Damn. Give this guy an Academy Award or whatever the British equivalent of an Emmy is. He sold the hell out of that "regret" reaction at the end.

Everything about this was awesome. Especially the ending. The sheer, abject belief in each other moved me to tears, especially when Scott's decision was revealed. No, Jane, he didn't bet against you. He knew you could. And you did. So moving.

The crazy thing is that I think this show only went one season because of the difficulty. This couple almost aced the only panic room and got all but one of the questions right. That was one of the cleaner exit lists in this game.
@ngarcia1037 жыл бұрын
Cleanest - every other team, I believe, got at least one question wrong. I like the difficulty, personally - shame the U.S. didn't pick up this show.
@cecilrichardson24945 жыл бұрын
The only thing that I disagree with is that as far as the Panic Rooms go, if you pass on any answer it's gone for good. They should have allowed the players to go back to any that they skipped, if there's still time left on the clock. That at least would give them a fighting chance.
@Kernel153 жыл бұрын
The panic room was the difficult one, I'd have added like 3 or 4 numbers to the exit list. The questions themselves weren't too hard xD
@HiroiSekai2 жыл бұрын
Really nice couple, down to the 100% easiest questions they always check with each other before acting on their own. A ton of money that they constantly emphasize the importance of for their family, and they still trust each other to collect it all. She also has a memory of steel, she has to have eidetic memory or a crazy good mnemonic to handle it all. I like how the trivia itself isn't actually that difficult, it all comes down to memory under pressure and the risk of the panic rooms. Wish the show stuck around longer.

I personally wouldn't be too happy if NASA called it the "Trouble" telescope! The time for recalling the exit list should be any unused time from correct answers to questions, or perfectly done panic rooms (which would have given them a total of 150 seconds here).
@markwatson27416 жыл бұрын
How many vaults are in The Exit List?
@cutemimi256 жыл бұрын
Mark Watson the answer is 26, and 21 of them contain cash since the host claims "5 of them are panic rooms"
@cecilrichardson24945 жыл бұрын
I would add a caveat to that. If the players enter a Panic Room, the only way no money is at stake is if the challenge is not finished perfectly (10 consecutive correct answers before the 30-second time limit expires). However, if the Panic Room is done perfectly, the vault should contain double the amount of money correspondent to its location (example: if someone enters a Panic Room on the £4,000 row, and they finish perfectly [10 correct answers consecutively] for the challenge, they receive £8,000.), but the route leading straight ahead still remains blocked-off. Unless it's a Panic Room on the back row; then, if the players finish the challenge perfectly, they receive double the money and the route to the next unentered room opens back up.

Sometimes I wish these British quiz shows would come to the US but then I remember the American version of The Chase and I'm glad that the British keep the good ones to themselves
@ngarcia1037 жыл бұрын
Plus, you know the U.S. will do something to ruin it. (With The Chase, overload of dramatic pauses, and the unnecessary trash talk in some episodes).

Second, the cash they let you rack up on British games shows just isn't enough. I remember Groucho Marx brought YOU BET YOUR LIFE to the UK, he actually asked a question, it wasn't too difficult, and paid the contestant ten shillings, or $1.40, for the answer. I couldn't believe you'd pay someone $1.40 on TV, even then (1965).

Actually I picture it more like this $5K, $10K, $25K, $50K, $75K, $100K, and a $500,000 jackpot room. ABC should've gave it a chance instead of scrapping it.

Okay, but why is this so easy to make a ton of money on this show? Congrats to her, but while exiting the maze she chose a wrong room and it just blinked red and she wasn't penalized. Also, recalling them in any order is WAY to easy, they should have to remember it in the opposite order in which they were done.

Talk about the perfect game. They even made 2 silly tactical errors (needlessly risk being locked in instead of moving forward and not immediately exiting once they found the £100,000) and it didn't matter in the end!

@YoshiFawful643 жыл бұрын
At 39:56 you can see the screen in front of him says “Accept” and “Reject” - I’m assuming that’s a touch screen and he just touched one of the words (and they used tactical camera angles to keep the decision secret)

I actually think this show could work in America. I think NBC or ABC would do a solid job with it. For ABC I would go with this host or Mike Greenburg who does Mike In Mike in the Morning on ESPN 2. I think this would have an entertainment feel to it, as long as ABC or NBC doesn't bury it in a bad time slot.

There was a pilot version of it released in the U.S., but it was a total flop. Not only was the maze larger (which resulted in a longer exit list), but there was a "Panic Ring" (a ring of unavoidable Panic Rooms) that had to be passed through (at least one) to get to the vaults with the high-value prizes and money amounts.
