I recently bought the Exped Widget having lost my Exped Schnozzel that I used to use to blow up my air mats. The Widget is a mini pump to inflate an air bed, a lamp and a power bank all rolled into one device.

🤣I like Mrs and Miss’s style on the camping mat inflation front Jon 😁 These power packs are handy items. I thought of you an hour ago when I saw a bright star 🌟 above the railway station, the only one in view at that point. I thought, I bet the Camping Astronomer would know which one that’s likely to be! 👌

It was my attempts at manually blowing up 3 air mats on the previous trip that convinced me that a mini pump was a good idea. I reckon that the very bright object you saw, before all of the stars became visible was probably Jupiter. It is very bright at the moment. If you have a pair of binoculars It would be worth taking a look as you might be able to see a few of its moons also 🙂

When camping during winter this gadget would be quite handy for inflating the air bed quickly and then providing much needed light in the tent. Based on the pro and cons you present I have a feeling that this will be on my wish list for Christmas! Cheers

Overall I'm very pleased with it, once I got over my teething problems with the charging port. Thanks for taking the time to watch 🙂👍

Thanks Daz 👍. Having had to blow up three mats manually on my previous trip, having a pump was a must. My Schnozzle bag still haven't turned up, so goodness knows where that has gone 🙂

I purchased the flex tail one on Amazon. Love how bright the light is. A bit loud though.

Mine is really loud 🥴. I'm out on a wild camp at the moment. I used the wigit to pump up my mat, and now it's hanging up as a light. Thank you for taking the time to watch and comment, I really appreciate it 👍

Can add a shower fitting to the schnozzle bag and multi use it for a shower as well as a pack liner etc, it's always a good back up for the widget

Looks like a handy piece of equipment John. In regards the charging time, I do wonder whether a fast 2100 mA hr charger would speed matters up? I'm using these in the car and indoors and they make a world of difference. Again for the micro usb connection I'm using reversible connectors which can be oriented in any direction and make coupling very easy. For the sake of UT's policy it would appear I cannot spell the singular word to search on via the south American river but try these two joined up as one, sun and guy. Hope that helps.

FYI, the blue adaptor fits in the intake port for deflation 👌👍

Oooh, thats interesting Dale, thanks very much for the tip 👍
@patkillalea3917 Жыл бұрын
@@thecampingastronomer8554 so is true you can deflate with it? I mean he did say the blue fitting goes in the inflation side. Doesn’t make sense to me.
@thecampingastronomer8554 Жыл бұрын
@patkillalea3917 I'll have to try it out. On the other hand, deflation if exped mats is so fast when you open the deflate port manually that it is probably a bit of a moot point to be honest.
@dalewebb7566 Жыл бұрын
Sorry Intake side of the pump
@patkillalea3917 Жыл бұрын
@@dalewebb7566 so does it work well as a deflator? It’s a slow job to deflate by squashing despite what The Camping Astronomer says. If it really does a good job in deflation mode, I’ll go ahead and get one.

Anyone happen to know the decibels of the Exped Widget Pump on low mode when NOT connected to inflatable? Thank you.
@thecampingastronomer85542 жыл бұрын
Hi Kelly, I'm afraid I haven't got anything to measure decibels so can't tell you. Out of interest, why do you ask ?

Is there any indication light that shows when the widget is charging?
@thecampingastronomer85542 жыл бұрын
Yes there is a light. If you go to time 9.25 onwards you will see me discuss the charging and see the lights indicating when charging and when fully charged. As you will see, I had a few problems with this. Thank you for watching and commenting 🙂
