There was a documentary about her life and she lied about so many things, she lied about her life, she said she was forced to marry her Canadian Husband and that marriage was without her but her brother and aunt said she was there and happy on that day. She also told many times, that her father and husband were angry and she was in fear of her life, but she was the one who called her husband and father frequently, her female host in Holland told her that she was getting letters from them and that she was not in fear or anything like that. A Somali refugee helper said, the same thing, she even mentioned that Ayaan was even asking help in the Somali community, if i dont wanna be found or are in fear, i would avoid that community. If she lies about so fundamentally things about her life, what do you think is true about her life what she wrote in that book ?

As an Afghan Muslim, I agree with most of the things that she is saying and they are true because I see that on a daily basis in Afghanistan. But what is she saying is related to their culture, not Islam. She has totally misunderstood culture and Islam, there are dozens of things in Afghan culture that Islam does not like but still, Afghan people follow it. An example is, Afghan people, hate to tell the names of the female family members to strangers and they are ready to fight for it if someone calls names of their sisters in a market place, or they go to witch doctors as Ayaan said. But these are the things that have nothing to do with Islam.

This Ayaan CLEARLY knows nothing about the history and spread of Islam, nor has any credentials to speak on the matter. All she speaks of when talking about Islamic history is clearly a generalization of Islam through her life experiences, and not factual history. Islam is perfect. We as people are not. Her home situation seems to indicate that her relatives followed the Quran selectively - and she, herself, seems to have issues with the very nature of Islam: Submission to God. TL;DR? She knows 20% about Islam advocating like she knows the other 80 - not acknowledging the fact that this is her own subjective experience. She's still on her journey.

He did another Masters in Islamic studies (from School of Oriental and African Studies, University of London). He has numerous ijazat in some Islamic sciences such as Hadith, Usul and Arabic, and has also studied in multiple Islamic seminaries including the Shinqeeti Institute which employs a traditional Mauritanian style of teaching the Sacred Sciences. As a Somali, I must say she was totally ahead of her time, and these days Gen Z and Millennial Somalis are flocking away from Islam just as the Iranian people did in the early 2000s. Some are converting to Christianity and some are becoming atheists. Great work Ayaan

@@sucaadshardi9650I've met her a few times in the UK, Hirsi Magan her father was an highly educated scholar and political dissident who raised Ayaan and her siblings in Kenya. And he wrote both letters in standard English and Swahili, but the Somali language was the oral and cultural communication at home and in the Eastleigh community If she's the mother of Somali enlightenment, hopefully, one day, she's for the most part hated deeply by the ignorant and brainwashed Somali community. But her work will stand the test of time. I visited Somaliland in April, and Salafi and Wahhabism in practice is a horrible thing to watch up close, it's devasting for women, children, and the education of the population. The Somali people will hopefully secularise in the coming decades.
