Back when Kings and leaders actually fought side by side with their men.... That's why there were so many great leaders within these earlier time periods. They know what it's like and wouldn't send their men into harms way without standing with them. Baldwin was definitely one of those types until he got too sick to do so. A very sad story. But a great young man none the less.

@@gizmothepiefaceman3062OP's argument was that old kings and rulers were in danger, they put themselves in harms way they could be killed in battle, which is something modern leaders would never do. And TBH it's understandable why if a president went too battle they would be shot with jets and missiles picked off, the time period of a leader going too battle is long gone.

@@KayaAtes11 My brother, when a person dies and has not yet converted to Islam, it is not permissible to pray for mercy for him, even if that person is honorable and kind-hearted. The Prophet Muhammad himself, when he asked God to pray for his mother, did not allow him. He only allowed him to visit her grave and not pray for her. A prophet who could not pray for his mother, so what about us if we feel sorry for a non-Muslim person? And the Prophet Noah also, God Allah told him not to tell him about his son who died while he did not embrace the message. I have always been so fascinated by historical rulers like this man. The ones who literally LIVED for their country. Another example is Catherine the Great- Impress of Russia. She was born in modern day Germany and married into the Romanov dynasty, but she came to love Russia ever more than her Russian born husband, Peter. Obviously some will not agree with me and that’s fine bc we all have different views and opinions…but the one thing no one can deny was that Catherine wanted Russia to prosper and thrive. My favorite bit of information about her is the story of how she won the favor of the Russian people (both parliament and common people) and had many titles given to her in honor- among them were “Catherine the Great” and also “Mother of Russia”- and when she heard all the honorary titles she openly stated that she didn’t not want names of praise and actually disliked the title of “Catherine the Great”…but there was one title she openly welcomed and wore proudly, and it was “Mother of Russia”. She openly admitted that she loved that title and wore it with pride because she did, indeed, love Russia as much as a mother loves their child. I once read that she was deeply touched and proud to know that even though she was born a German, the Russian people came to love her as one of their own. And I’m sure this comment comes off as extremely feminist, but it’s not meant to. I’m not a feminist by any means lol
@nerd74532 ай бұрын
Weird
@ashleydixon46132 ай бұрын
Being a feminist isn’t a bad thing, it just means you feel women are equal to men and deserve equal treatment. (“Same” and “equal” are two different things.) It doesn’t mean you don’t like or respect men or think they’re inferior somehow, it just means you don’t feel that way about women either. Wear the label proudly, don’t let it have such a negative connotation. But I totally get what you’re saying in general about both Baldwin IV and Catherine the Great. I’m a huge history buff myself and I can see what you mean.

No, they did not plot to overthrow Baldwin IV, stop. They waited for him to die before they seized control. They would’ve been demolished if they tried to pull a coup against Baldwin IV, dude had the backing of every knight in the Crusader States, and was beloved by the princes, counts, barons, knights and common men at arms alike. It would’ve been suicide to try something like that. However, she might’ve poisoned her own son (Baldwin V) who she had with her first husband William Longsword, he was the King after Baldwin IV’s death and died when he was 9 of unknown causes. But he also may have been killed by the Order of Assassins who also killed Raymond II of Tripoli, Conrad of Montferrat (who was the de facto king of Jerusalem at the time of his assassination) and tried to kill Saladin twice. There’s also another major character in all of this named Gerard of Ridefort who was the grandmaster of the Templars (Lord only knows how he got the position, he was new to the order and far too inexperienced in the politics of the region to be given that position) and who got the Templars nearly wiped out at the disastrous Battle of Hattin, 😮Raymond III of Tripoli and he had some personal problems with one another, and Raymond III was one of the most influential barons in Jerusalem at the time, so the barons all sides with him against Guy and Sibylla, and it’s highly likely that Gerard only sided with Guy and Sibylla out of spite and the personal grudge he had against Raymond. Without Gerard being a totally incompetent field general it’s possible that Jerusalem wouldn’t have fallen at all, but with the Templars and other standing armies of knights and men at arms destroyed at Hattin trying to retake Tiberias. Guy was thinking about trying this anyway, but all the seasoned military commanders with experience in campaigning in the Holy Land advised him that this was a fools errand because they had to cross a damn desert with no water source en route to get there, which made them extremely vulnerable. They had talked Guy out of doing this until Gerard met with him privately that night and had convinced him to do it anyway. Guy then announced the next morning that the army would be marching to try to retake Tiberias and all the generals were appalled and flabbergasted by the development. Very interesting series of events!

However, Lepri is relatively low infectious. The transmission will only occur after a long -term close contact with the patient, probably a droplet infection (from the nasal secretion of the affected person, which contains a large number of mycobacteria) or blood (in direct contact with the leprosy skin).
