Thanks for making so many great videos about weird and interesting gear. Every other channel just likes to review latest and greatest and I always think it’s more fun and creative to use fun weird gear.

Thanks! Yeah I agree. Newest isn't always the most fun. So I'm always on the look out for weird and old :)

Not so uncommonly thinking of using third-party party lenses with the GFX system ! I pairing my GFX50S with the Sigma 120-300mm lens ! And I am seriously thinking about the Sigma 4. 5 60-600 mm . it's heavy and cumbersome . But what you successfully achieve with this setup shows your photographic abilities !!! Keep up the good work !

I do very much enjoy watching your videos. Just imagine adapting that to a micro for thirds ! Also, a monopod would be very useful.

Thanks! Honestly if the speed booster EF adapter weren't sooo expensive I'd do it! If I find a deal on one expect a video :)

Those old Canon 200mm 1.8 are very expensive and hard to find (even if I could afford it!!!). For better or for worse, the professional astronomy community "discovered" that this lens is pretty much a miracle lens and have bought up lots of them in quantity. Some universities and even observatories rig those lenses up in large arrays. I guess the good news is this particular lens will never be waisted.

Yeah they are a very pricey EF lens. When it comes to fast tele primes though it's not that out of line for cost, rarity though like you said it is hard to find. You are right though the saving grace is that the ones out there are being well used.

@@Mr50mmishI would recommend using that lens without the adapter (just 200mm) wide open for either indoor portraits or outdoor work under dim light. Of course, if you have any interest in snaps of stars, (as far as I know), you pretty much have the best lens in that focal length ever made. (Don't worry about the external appearance.) You've got your hands on a real gem.

@@jimzielinski946 yeah I normally don't use the 2x TC on the lens. It was mainly just to get the reach for the video.

would crop to a square format to control the vignetting

Cropping to 3 by 2 also does a reasonable job of getting it undercontrol. But yeah a square would do it for sure.

Pick up a cheap monopod. Your arms will thank you.

Haha yeah I'm probably going to do that just for this lens!
