Good job, Chris. But why did you modulate verse 3 to F? Any reason? Music notations from OCP is Eb all the way.

Yes and no. :) There are two published versions of this by OCP: one that appeared in Breaking Bread, and on that appeared in their Spirit and Song collection. The Spirit and song arrangement has a longer interlude and modulation going into verse three, Breaking Bread does not. Truthfully, I typically use the simpler Breaking Bread version when I’m doing this song for mass, but for some reason I chose rj record the other one. There’s several other songs like that as well….where the BB arrangement is 90% the same as S&S except for maybe a longer intro or interlude or perhaps a modulation.

yeah that's the way the arrangement is. OCP sometimes published different versions of a song, one for their Breaking Bread book and one for their Spirit and Song book. The BB version DOESN'T have a key change but the S&S one does. I like the key change. :-)

@@ChrisBrunelle ....ahhh, okay...that explains it. I've got the Breaking Bread 2018. When I'm assigned a music to play (on the piano) your videos are my go-to. I figure out the chords then I try to accompany your video with my chords. With this song, my chords sounded perfect until the 3rd verse. I first thought that I had been the one that made the mistakes, but then as I played the individual notes on the piano it didn't jibe with your singing....lol. It's how I figured you had changed keys.........

Confused. The third verse begins on an F in my copy, but you and a few others I've heard start on a G. Am I missing something?

If I remember correctly, there are two different versions of this song. And one of them has a key change going into the third purse and one doesn’t. I’m guessing that’s where the discrepancy is. I’m not home right now but I can look up the different versions when I get back. My guess is the spirit and song version has a key change, and the breaking bread one probably doesn’t
