@@mr.barcode3186 I know this is a late reply but since the classic series was serialized, they could spend more time having to explain their way to authority. Whereas with the much shorter episode time in the new series, I think it benefits from avoiding this to keep the interest on the more interesting part of the plot.

​@mr.barcode3186 Dude no. Stop. That's nostalgia talking or something because the classic series was WAYYYYYYY too full of episodes being padded with the Doctor and co being detained or imprisoned and stuck there for far too much of the story, to the detriment of the plot development

Thanks for highlighting this scene. Troughton was such a good comedic actor. Always love watching him. Aware that the absurdity of the situation in this particular scene was where the humour lay. Love those elbow nudges to quieten down Jamie. Touches of slapstick. The scenes with the airport commandant in The Faceless zones are equally hilarious. Works on several levels. Could appeal to children and adults. All hail the cosmic hobo!

Did Frazer forget the word 'the' when saying 'why not tell him about the TARDIS'? I always hear it as 'why not tell him about TARDIS' and it just sounds odd to me :c I love how his head whips around to stare at the man when he says 'suspects', though :P

Frazer is from Yorkshire where leaving out definite articles is part of the dialect. Watch him in early Emmerdale Farm (when it depicted rural farm life) and you'll hear a near complete loss of the word "the". That's him slipping up and going Yorkshire on his lines.
