ABOUT KEVIN CHAPMAN
Hi, I'm Kevin Chapman, a full-time KZbinr, author, podcaster, speaker and occasional teacher from Peterborough, UK. As part of my daily vlog I release new videos every day at 5pm UK time with topics including life as an autism family, conventions and geek culture, technology, education and tutorials and entrepreneurship.
When I left my full-time as a Computer Science teacher in July 2017, my partner, Anna, was trapped in our house by our son Andy, who is autistic and had refused to go to school for 18 months. Our daughters Lucy and Amy and our dog Dave hardly saw me because I was always working to try and solve all our problems! Today I'm a full-time content creator who's always at home when my kids get home from school (all our kids!) and Anna has been able to return to university. This channel is the story of my family's ongoing journey as family vloggers! Previously known as lollujo Vlogs.

The last ride Amy and Andy went on is absolutely one of my favorite rides that I LOVE to go on at any fairground as I love any ride that spins, plus the Waltzers. That Washing Machine Ride looked fun and I would go on that if that appeared at my local funfair. Plus, I didn't like how those children pushed in when Amy and Andy were JUST getting off. They could of benefitted from learning manners there by learning to wait until the people got out of the cart. Also, if you're next looking at funfairs to go to, I recommended Carters Funfair as unlike other modern funfairs where they use steel and neon colors, Carters are more traditional and use steam to power their rides as well as electricity, like in the 1800's-1940's. Plus their sign painting is very professional (using ochre, yellow and red and brown as their main color scheme) which sells on the vintage look. Their rides are pretty unique as while there are those rides that are standard at any fair present (like the Dodgems, Whizzer, Ghost Train, etc), but they have things like the Lightning Skid, Swingboats, and the Steam yacht (powered by steam), Octopus, etc. It takes tokens rather than pounds (except of you're buying food) and it's better to pay for them in advance on their website as t can give you a number of tickets for free rides with a certain number of tokens.

What a coincidence! I had a similar experience last year; there was the usual Boston May Fair in the Market Place and Wide Bargate in Boston where I live, but my carers wouldn't let me go last year due to my incident between me and Tina at Lincoln South Common Fair, and 4 months later, I had another chance at Boston Fair, as Gary Evans brought his fair into the Central Park, which was named Boston September Fair, which at the time was like my backup version of Boston May Fair in case I didn't do Boston May Fair at all that year. Although the September Fair was smaller than Boston May Fair, I thought that it was slightly nicer than Boston May Fair, as there are special offer days, such as the session wristband day, and 1 Token night, and it had an alternate set of showman's rides that you wouldn't normally see at the May Fair. I did do Boston May Fair again this year, and also Gary Evans' Boston September Fair, but this year it was like an add on to the May Fair to me, but I had said to myself (and last year) that the September Fair is like a missing jigsaw piece to Boston May Fair, since the May Fair used to have rides in the Central Park too from 2006 to 2011.

Quite weird that Andy enjoys the fair. A place with lot of sounds, smells, touches and alot of people doesnt seem like the most comfortable place for someone with autism.

Well, YUNG-MEES, all autistic people are different. It is true that some don't like loud noises and bright lights, but there are those who love those things and/or simply learned to cope with it over time. Simply, Andy adores the fair (as seen here) so he's able to stand the crowds and loud noises for his favorite things. Plus, the nature of the Vlogs is that the family travel everywhere, so Andy has gotten used to (even if it's taken some time) travelling different places in different routes.

Y U N G - M E E S It's not that weird at all, considering a lot of autistic people. I have a friend with a daughter who absolutely loves arcades. Which seems odd considering there's lights, sudden and very loud sounds, and many people. But because she enjoys them, she doesn't realize the rest as she's too focused on the parts she enjoys. And I saw a few comments on the last fair video of people with or who have a loved one with autism who say the same.

nah my ex wife has autism , she totally loved the fair and she was in some ways similar to andy when she was little .maybe something about getting lost in the noise ? maybe its because its dark perhaps its because it has a really good feel to it ...the atmosphere im really not sure .
