I think they were both using an advanced cheating software together, who would delete the original footage of their world record run, as well as that world? chances are you would keep it as evidence and as a personal memory for yourself to look back on.

@@PeterJavi Yeah. I just think that like, because if somebody _perfectly_ fakes a speedrun, it would be so perfect we'd never know, and given how many fake speedruns are found it's probably true that there are some faked speedruns that were so well done they make it onto the leaderboards.

You neglect to mention that the mods didn't ask for those files until AFTER they had already validated the run. Meaning it was perfectly understandable for Odiz to delete all that footage wasting space on his drives. Even though it's kinda moot here in the era of sub-10, I still think Odiz's run was legit. It was extremely well executed and there is zero proof that it was fake. If the mods believed it to be fake, they were the ones that screwed up by validating it in the first place. I have great respect for the work they have been doing especially since MC speedruns took off like crazy, but even they have to admit that it's perfectly possible that the only reason Odiz's run was invalidated is due to their own screw-up in this particular case. There's nothing strange about the fact that Polish speedrunners are IRL friends. The Polish speedrunning community being extremely small.

my phone is literally giving me warnings that there is not enough space to operate and I wouldn't delete the cat videos. If I had created a world record, why would I delete the only thing that would validate it? Besides, a 20-minute video would not kill your drives. If your computer is that cramped, there are millions of ways to store videos outside of the computer or save space by cleaning up your drives. A normal person's instinct wouldn't be deleting everything, especially when you are proud of it.

One of my biggest issues with this is that they found Odiz's run suspicious mostly based on the fact that he was friends with Kiran, and started their investigation entirely based on that. Just cause I have a friend who pulled a dumbass move doesn't mean I'm going to do the same thing. I think Odiz's run is legit and Kiran was just trying to one-up his friend because he wanted the spotlight.

They had already validated the run, so going back after over a week has passed, asking for some files that take up a significant amount of space on a computer of a KZbinr, it seems reasonable that the files would have already been cleared away. If it was cheated, then perhaps the moderators shouldn’t have been so quick to validate the run, because that seems to be the reason why the proof is gone.

When you're called out, it's your job to prove the claims as false. The "proven guilty" part is basically when they can't submit legitimate proof they're not guilty. It's how all courts work! People claim you did something, or have suspicion you did, so you have to prove you didn't..if you can't you get charged. In ODz's case though it can't be proved he cheated or didn't cheat exactly, thus his run wasn't accepted, you either cheated or you didn't and if the answer can't be proven for either case then you fall into the same boat as cheating where you don't pass go, you don't win $200 your run is canceled.

@@testerwulf3357 That's the exact opposite. It's the accusers' responsibility to prove guilt. In science, however, the larger the claim, the stronger the evidence must be. I believe OdiZ. Many comments pointed it out, but the video failed to mention that the video and game files have been deleted after OdiZ’s run was accepted for days or even a week, and the video was up in KZbin. He had no need for those files, which were 20GB in total, and he had little storage space and a weak PC. As someone with a weak pc and little storage space, you can bet I won’t keep around a 20GB file unless I really really need it - and he didn’t need it because he was already verified for a while. And to the people saying, why didn’t he buy some storage space then? Guys… you’re forgetting that different countries have different currencies and economics. I’m from Hungary, and stuff like that is expensive. My 16GB USB drive cost me about a day’s worth of 2022 salary, and it broke after a month. It’s not small money. Well, not for everyone, maybe it is for you. Not to mention we don’t know how old OdiZ was at the time and whether he had his own money or not. And I can totally see his parents not wanting to buy an expensive, large and sturdy drive just to store a 20GB file for some game. So yeah, the files being deleted- that’s completely legit and understandable from the viewpoint of a person with a shitty pc, little storage, without the option of buying a large enough drive, with a 20GB file hogging up everything and having already been verified for days at the least. You just have to look at the situation from the POV of the person actually living it instead of your own, and then you can see that yeah - that does make a lot of sense. Unfortunately it seems like a lot of people fail to understand and do that. And, if the files missing isn’t evidence (which it isn’t) and the only other evidence is that his friend cheated (which isn’t evidence), or that there was a month gap in his uploads (not evidence, that’s summer break time, maybe he didn’t upload because he was playing…?), it all comes down to absolutely nothing. There is nothing to prove that he cheated. And the luck? There is the guy who won the lottery with his very first lottery ticket purchased in his life and the guy who got struck by lightning three times. Is it really so unbelievable that a seemingly skilled MC player can get a lucky seed and pull of a speed run of less than 20 minutes? I mean, come on… at this point you just want him to be guilty. It’s innocent until proven guilty, not the other way around.

Kiran saw his friend pull a world record, got jealous, and tried to cheat to one-up him. When the moderators found Kiran's run was spliced, they questioned Odiz, but he couldn't provide the evidence that he was innocent because he had already deleted the world files, thus his run was invalidated.

I’m not hating, you did a wonderful video and research! ❤️ I just wanted to say that the black and white thumbnail (I’ll call it blank thumbnail) is not a valid reason to say they cheated. I usually, very very often, have worlds with blank thumbnails. Even after playing for MONTHS on that world, my thumbnail sometimes gets glitched. It happens very frequently to me. The run was very suspicious tho, I’m just saying it’s not enough reason :) Great vid! 🥳

17:28 This isn't impossible, a while back I was working on a website code as an experiment and I was really happy about it. Somehow managed to delete everything. How!? I have no idea. It took me weeks to learn how to write the code and it was gone, just like that.

Think about this for a second. Maybe there has been a cheated run that has been verified by the mods and we would not know that they cheated?

I really dont see any reason to reject odiZ's run. It looks legit no matter how you look at it and the minor inconvenience doesnt prove he cheated, only that he doesnt have evidence. Just because you dont have evidence, it doesnt mean your always in the wrong
