To me Nickelodeon has fallen the most, even if Disney channel/CN have. I think Nickelodeon started to fall when great shows around 2000/2008 ended like Danny Phantom, As told by Ginger, All grown up, ICarly, Zoey 101, Victorious and especially Avatar the last Airbender. After those shows were gone, the replacements were not as good. So the viewers could really feel the void of the past shows. Nick either done spin offs of the past shows which weren't treated well (The Legend of Korra and Sam and Cat were okay, but Nick didn't care enough for them), or lame live action shows.When this happens you knew Nick was going downhill.

How to save Nickelodeon 1. Limit the sitcoms to only 2 shows. 2. Make the cartoons to which people can relate to. Make the main characters down to earth kids. Hey Arnold was absolutely amazing and it was very down to Earth. 3. Make sure the Cartoons have Catchy intro music. 4. Make cartoons that have a mystery vive to it. 5. Replay the old shows more often. Such as Invader Zim, Hey Arnold, Rugrats, etc... To be fairly honest, I don't think kids don't really care about Cartoons like they did back in the 80s, 90s, and early 2000s. They are too busy with the internet and with Iphones.

The only cartoons I really watch are Dexter's Laboratory and Courage the Coweredly (At least I think that's how you spell it) dog. Which come on at late night boomerang. Limeberri Fun Fact: Noggin *WAS* Nick Jr. Nick Jr was launched on February 2nd, 1999. But after a couple of short years, it was REBRANDED in 2003 to Noggin. Noggin was pretty much the same as Nick Jr, but it featured more acquired programming from other networks, and less original stuff. And on that fateful day, September 28th, 2009, Noggin *REVERTED BACK* to Nick Jr. Same thing with TeenNick. Started out as TEENick in 2004, then in 2006 became The N, then after the 2009 rebrand, it turned into TeenNick.

I think the problem with the sitcoms, especially those by Dan Schneider, is that they don't have heart anymore. If they try to have sincere moments, they're ruined by jokes or just feel hollow. Like remember when Josh said he was done with Drake and the emotion we got from that? The reason Drake and Josh worked is because you felt their bond and you knew they loved each other. Schneider seems to let the mean spirited jokes of this series overthrow that important aspect with each show that he does. The last one he did to really have genuine moments like this was iCarly, and this coming from a Victorious fan. Also, Nick had a show called 100 Things to Do Before High School which is almost identical to Ned's Declassified. However, I consider it better because of it's emphasis of the heart of the show and you actually see the families outside of school, which is something Ned's Declassified rarely did.

Yeah, I agree with you. Most people tend to blame Nick's fall strictly on Spongebob and no other factors and how Nick wants to desperately make the next Spongebob-like success. That actually is PART of the reason Nick is falling, but another big reason is the over-reliance of live-action sitcoms, and it's mostly because they are far cheaper to make and require less effort to put into. Will Nickelodeon change and get better? Eventually it will, but it probably won't be any time soon, based on it's current patterns.

I'm only into a few of Nick's current shows myself, but I think it's biggest issue that wasn't talked about in this video is that they give lousy treatment to shows that aren't instant successes. The Loud House got very lucky. Other shows like Harvey Beaks (which also wasn't talked about in this video and only had a couple pictures seen at the end) weren't instant successes and got lousy treatment. Maybe there's a reason Nick doesn't have more good shows. Maybe creators instead go to networks that will give their shows better treatment.

Nick was never dying. Nick changes throughout the years because the audience's preferences change. Let's face it, most nick's viewers are little children ,not teens or young adults that want shows with nostalgia. Nickelodeon doesn't care about the quality of the show, but instead it cares about the attention it gets. Neither do the little children care if what they're watching something good. The only thing that makes them want to watch something again is because it's funny (allways generally speaking). So that is why Nickelodeon is not dying, but instead stops making good quality shows. Because Nickelodeon's high priority is getting more money, just like every other company in the world.

Not with Avatar...but with the legend of Korra. Nick was 100 percent behind Avatar because it was so popular. With Korra after book 1 the show went downhill due to the writing, animation, and timeslot change. So Nick stopped caring/promoting the show. And it's sad because book 3 was just as amazing as book 1.

One reason why I think the shows on nick are failing is because they're intending to make it for kids, instead of making good shows that kids can watch. I feel like making it intentional for kids takes out of creativity because none of the writers are kids. But a good way to make shows would make it funny for even adults, just leave out strong subject matter and language, so it can still be viewed by kids.
