I definitely like the demos of IV and V better, but part III on this gives me chills. These guys were my favorite band in high school, and I've been listening to them non stop recently, and I remember why. One of the best bands ever. Period.

Beyond music, i really enjoy the concept behind this album: a spanish galleon encountering a ghost ship. My ancestors are in great part spanish, so it's as if they were protagonists of the tale.

Not gonna lie, I felt the nerd songs were charming in their own right, disappointed not to get that Toradora song, haha. In seriousness, though, I'm really happy for you guys that you've been able to improve this much and can record on your own for the new record. Your personal songs have always been the most heartfelt, and each of them has at least -somewhat- reached me at a rather bad point in my own life. I'll definitely be picking this new record up, I'm REALLY looking forward to what you guys put out! I love the direction you plan to take this in, you guys have all the support I'm able to offer! Guy WhoHatesGooglePlus Technical =/= mathcore. Extremely technical can be associated with any genre, but most technical bands in these are generally listed as prog/whatever other genre(post-hardcore and such). Mathcore tends to be more aggressive with their tempo changes and avoiding the standard formula of verse and chorus. People tend to label bands like Dillinger Escape Plan, The Number Twelve Looks Like You, and Daughters. They are just words those and have no real meaning. Just enjoy the music and keep suggesting great bands to more people.

Fantastic album even though it doesn't come close to doppelganger or even manipulator. Its still good in its own ways. BTW chapter 4 is sick and very fun to play on guitar

It is I totally agree. But to say that it doesn't come close to Manipulator is just ignorant. This album is just all in all more thought out and the songs are structured better. Whilst Manipulator was a step in a different direction, which doesn't mean that manipulator is bad. I love both albums, but this one is just so much more atmospheric for me.

I personally prefer the demo versions, but I wouldn't say this is inferior. They're just different. This one definitely has better production value, but the demo versions have a lot more emotion and more of an edge to it. I also wish they would have kept the opening bass line on the bass instead of switching it over to guitar.

Unfortunately, no. However, the band will be reuniting at the end of December to play 3 last shows in Texas. It'll be one concert per day spanning three days (all at the same venue) and each concert will be the band performing one of their albums in it's entirety. Wish I could go, but that's a long trip from Ohio and I have family commitments to attend to.
