It was 1981. Remember it being a good gig.I put the photos on the Fall website a about 10 years back. I keep seeing them crop up all over the place now. I used to go to all the Fall's London dates back then. I still go occasionally now.

I saw them first at Trinity Hall in Bristol , don't remember the year , but they played The Man Whose Head Expanded , Paul Hanley was in the band , Brix wasn't in the band then ! Would've loved to have seen Marc Riley , so I do wonder how long he'd been out of the band at that time !

Smiths vocals were authentic Manc' back then. Horrific weird Yank imitation drawl crept in around 1990. Ruined the band's and his own style thereafter.
