Extricate was a good album! Maybe not in the eyes of the Fall purists (probably due to the Coldcut electronic influence on a few tracks), but I think it worked and I think the band were pretty tight at this early post-Brix stage. They didn't sound as 'meaty' again for many albums after this. I'd put this in my top 5 Fall albums and I don't care who hates me for it!

I've been a Fall fan since when they only had one album out. Extricate is still my favourite. It punches. Actually, all of them are my favourite. It just depends on which one I'm listening to.

the thought of fall purists being any threat is amusing, suppose their number is fair, fuk em this sounds better than the album

Whizz Bang went unbroadcast on the night as MES was unhappy with it. It turns out to be a version of b-side Butterfly 4 brainz.

Short lived though it might have been, this lineup was quite possibly the best of the lot! Kenny Brady’s manic fiddle playing was a stroke of genius and a not so subtle dig at a recently departed band member at the same time. Why are people so grudgeful?

Is it me or is the bass in Chicago Now played in a slightly different key? It sounds really cool

He's a little sharp and it's a good thing! Perfect for this. Actually, Craig is playing around too! Unique sound! Great song, great take.

Hillary swipes the intro to The Move's "I Can Hear the Grass Grow," which would in time become a live staple. Why plunder the intro when you can just cover the song itself?

Mark's Yank accent put-on adopted from 88/89 after a fan sent him a demo tape full of L/ Reed inflected tunes, in full flow here.
