I was an altar boy and the first in my all-Catholic family to get saved, in 1981. My mother tried to get me back into the Catholic church. I told her I would take that class if she would read the Book of Romans with me. We did. My father later joined us. When we came to the part that says "and by no works of the flesh shall any man be justified", Romans 3:25, Dad said "We don't believe that. "My mother felt she was not a sinner. Over years God put her thorough many trials, including a stroke when we were in Ireland in 2003. I came back from a missions trip in China in December 23, 2003. My mother was in intensive care. I shared the gospel with her, she acknowledged finally she was a sinner and prayed to receive Christ as her Lord and Saviour. 3 days later she died. My siblings did not want to hear it when I told them this story. Catholics are mostly decent, good people and I love them. But the Catholic church is not real Christianity because they do not believe you can be certain you will go to heaven when you die--substitutionary atonement--and they do not believe the bible is the ultimate source of truth. They put traditions before the Word. It is a religion about control and religious externals. Things such as popes, cardinals, confession of sins to a priest, mortal and venial sin, purgatory, transubstantiation, worship of Mary and belief she was sinless, prayer to saints, vestments and emphasis on externals and control by men are all not found in the bible and man made and parts of a mass deception. I got saved and my salvation is more valuable than a billion dollars. Call me at 215-564-4000 if I can help you. I never deserved my salvation but I love Catholics. Jesus is my Saviour.

Concerning the false Gospel of Mike Gendron Look at the Eucharist in the Gospel of John .. Go to John 6:30 It begins in the synagogue at Capernaum. The Jews asked Jesus what sign he could perform so that they might believe in him. As a challenge, they noted that “our ancestors ate manna in the desert.” Could Jesus top that? He told them the real bread from heaven comes from the Father. “Give us this bread always,” they said. Jesus replied, “I am the bread of life; whoever comes to me will never hunger, and whoever believes in me will never thirst.” At this point the Jews understood him to be speaking metaphorically. Jesus first repeated what he said, then summarized: “‘I am the living bread which came down from heaven; if any one eats of this bread, he will live forever; and the bread which I shall give for the life of the world is my flesh.’ The Jews then disputed among themselves, saying, ‘How can this man give us his flesh to eat?’” (John 6:51-52). His listeners were stupefied because now they understood Jesus literally-and correctly. He again repeated his words, but with even greater emphasis, and introduced the statement about drinking his blood: “Truly, truly, I say to you, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of man and drink his blood, you have no life in you; he who eats my flesh and drinks my blood has eternal life, and I will raise him up at the last day. For my flesh is food indeed, and my blood is drink indeed. He who eats my flesh and drinks my blood abides in me, and I in him” (John 6:53-56). Notice that Jesus made no attempt to soften what he said, no attempt to correct “misunderstandings,” for there were none. Our Lord’s listeners understood him perfectly well. They no longer thought he was speaking metaphorically. In John 6:60 we read: “Many of his disciples, when they heard it, said, ‘This is a hard saying; who can listen to it?’” (It is here, in the rejection of the Eucharist, that Judas fell away; look at John 6:64.) “After this, many of his disciples drew back and no longer went about with him” (John 6:66). This is the only record we have of any of Christ’s followers forsaking him for purely doctrinal reasons. If they erred in taking a metaphor in a literal sense, why didn’t he call them back and straighten things out? Both the Jews, who were suspicious of him, and his disciples, who had accepted everything up to this point, would have remained with him had he said he was speaking only symbolically. But he did not correct these protesters. Twelve times he said he was the bread that came down from heaven; four times he said they would have “to eat my flesh and drink my blood.” John 6 was an extended promise of what would be instituted at the Last Supper-and it was a promise that could not be more explicit. Now when you say Christ was speaking only metaphorically by comparing verses like John 10:9 (“I am the door”) and John 15:1 (“I am the true vine”). The problem is that there is not a connection to John 6:35, “I am the bread of life.” “I am the door” and “I am the vine” make sense as metaphors because Christ is like a door-we go to heaven through him-and he is also like a vine-we get our spiritual sap through him. But Christ takes John 6:35 far beyond symbolism by saying, “For my flesh is food indeed, and my blood is drink indeed” (John 6:55). Jesus continues: “As the living Father sent me, and I live because of the Father, so he who eats me will live because of me” (John 6:57). The Greek word used for “eats” (trogon) is very blunt and has the sense of “chewing” or “gnawing.” This is not the language of metaphor. You appeal to John 6:63: “It is the spirit that gives life, the flesh is of no avail; the words that I have spoken to you are spirit and life.” You say this means that eating real flesh is a waste. But does this make sense? Are we to understand that Christ had just commanded his disciples to eat his flesh, then said their doing so would be pointless? Is that what “the flesh is of no avail” means? “Eat my flesh, but you’ll find it’s a waste of time”-is that what he was saying? Hardly. In John 6:63 “flesh profits nothing” refers to mankind’s inclination to think using only what their natural human reason would tell them rather than what God would tell them. Thus in John 8:15-16 Jesus tells his opponents: “You judge according to the flesh, I judge no one. Yet even if I do judge, my judgment is true, for it is not I alone that judge, but I and he who sent me.” So natural human judgment, unaided by God’s grace, is unreliable; but God’s judgment is always true. Also in John 6:63, “The words I have spoken to you are spirit” does not mean “What I have just said is symbolic.” The word “spirit” is never used that way in the Bible. The line means that what Christ has said will be understood only through faith; only by the power of the Spirit and the drawing of the Father (cf. John 6:37, 44-45, 65). Paul wrote to the Corinthians: “The cup of blessing which we bless, is it not a participation in the blood of Christ? The bread which we break, is it not a participation in the body of Christ?” (1 Cor. 10:16). So when we receive Communion, we actually participate in the body and blood of Christ, not just eat symbols of them. Paul also said, “Therefore whoever eats the bread and drinks the cup of the Lord unworthily will have to answer for the body and blood of the Lord. . . . For any one who eats and drinks without discerning the body, eats and drinks judgment on himself” (1 Cor. 11:27, 29). “To answer for the body and blood” of someone meant to be guilty of a crime as serious as homicide. How could eating mere bread and wine “unworthily” be so serious? Paul’s comment makes sense only if the bread and wine became the real body and blood of Christ. Anti-Catholics also claim the early Church took this chapter symbolically. Ignatius of Antioch, who had been a disciple of the apostle John and who wrote a letter to the Smyrnaeans about A.D. 110, said, referring to “those who hold heterodox opinions,” that “they abstain from the Eucharist and from prayer, because they do not confess that the Eucharist is the flesh of our Savior Jesus Christ, flesh which suffered for our sins and which the Father, in his goodness, raised up again” (6:2, 7:1). Forty years later, Justin Martyr, wrote, “Not as common bread or common drink do we receive these; but since Jesus Christ our Savior was made incarnate by the word of God and had both flesh and blood for our salvation, so too, as we have been taught, the food which has been made into the Eucharist by the Eucharistic prayer set down by him, and by the change of which our blood and flesh is nourished, . . . is both the flesh and the blood of that incarnated Jesus” (First Apology 66:1-20). Origen, in a homily written about A.D. 244, attested to belief in the Real Presence. “You are accustomed to take part in the divine mysteries, so you know how, when you have received the Body of the Lord, you reverently exercise every care lest a particle of it fall and lest anything of the consecrated gift perish” (Homilies on Exodus 13:3). Cyril of Jerusalem, in a catechetical lecture presented in the mid-300s, said, “Do not, therefore, regard the bread and wine as simply that, for they are, according to the Master’s declaration, the body and blood of Christ. Even though the senses suggest to you the other, let faith make you firm” (Catechetical Discourses: Mystagogic 4:22:9). It is this level of research prayer and understanding which has led three Church of England Bishops in just the last two years to give up so much power, wealth and status to join the Catholic Church to get closer to Christ..

I got married 19 years ago, my wife's whole family is Catholic. I get no respect from her father and the family. Even though I study the bible and follow Christ, yesterday I was told by her brother that he cares enough about me to tolerate my hate for Christ and his one holy church. He tells me I can't be saved outside of the Catholic church. That's not what Romans 5:1-2 tell me. All through Romans says it's by grace through faith, and it's a free gift.

You and your brother in law need to read the catechism. _846 How are we to understand this affirmation, often repeated by the Church Fathers? Re-formulated positively, it means that all salvation comes from Christ the Head through the Church which is his Body:_ _Basing itself on Scripture and Tradition, the Council teaches that the Church, a pilgrim now on earth, is necessary for salvation: the one Christ is the mediator and the way of salvation; he is present to us in his body which is the Church. He himself explicitly asserted the necessity of faith and Baptism, and thereby affirmed at the same time the necessity of the Church which men enter through Baptism as through a door. We are in the same boat brother I had a baby with someone who’s family is Catholic and her dad would get pissed when I would always say no when he would try to convert me. Still does. Even threatened to take her away from me which now she has left my side and moved in with them because she doesn’t want to be with a Christian and I don’t turn Catholic. It’s really hard right now but I am leaving everything to God. I understand your pain. God does everything for a reason and I feel like my reason is to save her and her family. At least try and if they don’t listen that’s between them and God. I did my part!

Classes are weekly starting in early September at most parishes. Conversion though is a journey. One can answer all the intellectual questions but the conversion of the heart can still be a barrier. When you read from the bible, you are reading from a Catholic Christian book. Catholic Christians decided what books belong in it,** translated the text, copied the text, and guarded its meaning. Those who did so never even heard of the word protestant christian. ** note, here you use the very same New Testament as decided by the 4th c Catholic Church, 27 writings out of 300+ early Christian writings. The very same Church as the very same time said the Old Testament was 46 writings. Then, 1100 years later, a Catholic priest named Luther, who had no authority, said the Church error'd before him for all that time and that the Old Testament was 39 writings. Protestantism inconsistently uses his canon - all the while believing the Church was right on the New Testament. One wonders in the protestant belief, just how does the Holy Spirit works and what did Jesus mean when he PROMISED to lead his Church to ALL Truth? (Jn 16:13)

I am pleased to report that Catholicism is continuing to save me through the biblical Sacraments of Confession and Eucharist. In the latter, I receive Jesus, my Lord and Saviour, Redeemer and Friend, High Priest and soon-retuning King who has “ransomed, healed, restored, forgiven” me as the favourite hymn describes it. Thank you, Father, for the priceless gift of your Beloved Son and for the priceless gift of the Church he bequeathed us. “Who like me His praise should sing” as the hymn also puts it. @@stever4181 The latter. The RCC cannot promise salvation to you, me or anyone else on the planet. That is God's prerogative. He alone saves. Far more Scripture is read in liturgical churches like RC, Anglican and Lutheran that use a lectionary (a list of prescribed readings from OT, Psalms, Gospels and Epistles for every day of the year) than in non-liturgical ones where the preacher is free to cherry pick whatever he or she chooses to preach on. The Catechism of the CC is dripping with Scripture references. Yes, it was written by men, just as your interpretations are made by a man.

I attended Catholics schools, Catechism and always believed I was a Christian. My older brother - an alter boy, suffered from severe depression all his teen years which led to alcohol and drug abuse. He was in a post office in Montana when a stranger came up to him and preached the gospel- telling him he needed to be “Born Again” he prayed with him there in the post office and told him to start reading his Bible and putting his trust in the Lord. That was over 40 yrs ago and my brother came home a different man and he’s never been the same since. He’s ALL In for Jesus. That was the spark in our family that ignited a firestorm and one by one our entire family of 5 stubborn headed Roman Catholics came to Christ- New Creatures in Christ/ Born Again one by one. We continued going to the Catholic Church but as we were all now studying Gods word there were glaring contradictions that were troubling. We called on our local Priests and Deacons with all our questions and they both had to admit they could not answer some of our questions and told us when scripture contradicts tradition that we go with tradition. 40 yrs later, I understand scripture on a much deeper level after studying Gods word and I can confidently say- Roman Catholicism is absolutely not biblical. The deception is they do mix a lot of truth with fatal error and that is always what deceives people. Truth mixed with lies.

Like you, Mike, I was in my thirties when I came to Christ. I began to read a bible and became angry when I started to realize how the Catholic church had deceived me. Each day, after work, I couldn't wait to get home and start digging into the scriptures. I had been an altar boy in the church in the days of the Latin Mass, and was quite upset about the deception of the Roman church. During my early days of Christianity I became a Freemason after seeing several members of my church wearing the Square and Compasses. If that were the case then Paul Himself would not say in Col 1 ; 24 that rejoices in his suffering for our sake and in my flesh I am filling up what is lacking in the cross of Christ for his sake and for the sake of his body which is the Church. You have fallen into the trap the Paul speaks of that you somehow think you have “ arrived.” It is pride. It is done in the sense that the price has been payed. That does not mean that you can now do whatever you want and think you going to Heaven. And if the plan of redemption is all done then there would be no need for the ministry of reconciliation to God given to the Apostles. I have to give credit to John Martignoni for this explanation: The Bible is full of passages that either directly or indirectly contradict this doctrine of “Once Saved, Always Saved.” Romans 11:17-23, “But if some of the branches were broken off [the Jews], and you, a wild olive shoot [the Gentiles], were grafted in their place to share the richness of the olive tree [Jesus Christ], do not boast over the branches…For if God did not spare the natural branches, neither will He spare you…Note then the kindness and the severity of God: severity toward those who have fallen, but God’s kindness to you, provided you continue in His kindness; otherwise you too will be cut off.” Paul is talking about how salvation has come to the Gentiles, while many of the Jews have rejected it. And he makes it very clear that once you have been grafted into Christ, you must “continue in His kindness,” or you can also be cut off. So, even after you’ve been saved, you can still be cut off from Jesus Christ. This is further seen in Galatians 5:1, “For freedom Christ has set us free; stand fast therefore, and do not submit again to a yoke of slavery [sin].” If once saved always saved is true, then one cannot “submit again” to a “yoke of slavery,” and Paul’s warning makes no sense. I accepted Jesus as my personal Savior and was baptized at the age eight years, in the early 50's. By the end of high school, I hardly looked to the Lord except in hours of great need! In 1994 after walking in the wilderness of a sinful world for forty years in the pit of grim reality (valley of shadow of death), I made Jesus Lord of my life by taking up my cross (this sinful flesh) already justified through Jesus' sacrifice towards sanctification and regeneration as a true priest of this temple of Father's Holy Spirit. Christians pray exclusively to Christ....hence the reason we are called CHRIST-ians. To be a saved, born-again, Spirit-filled Christian means that we gladly worship the one and only true God.....NO ONE ELSE! Catholics spend most of their time communicating with dead people. Dead people cannot hear you because they don't have the attributes of God, they cannot hear millions of prayers at once nor can they answer millions of prayers. That's why God teaches us, in His Word, to pray only to Him, no one else, because no one else is like God. The Bible says in: 1 Timothy 2:5-6 - "For there is ONE God, and there is ONE mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus, who gave Himself as a ransom for all, which is the testimony given at the proper time." There it is....God tells you there is ONLY one GOD and ONLY one Mediator. Where is it written that Mary is a Mediatrix or co-Redeemer? Nowhere!! But Catholics refuse to believe the Truth of the Word of God. They prefer to pray to their Mary, their "Holy Mother" asking her to talk to Jesus and to beg Him to answer their prayers....Blasphemy! Completely unbiblical. The God of the universe does not take direction from ANY of His creations...EVER!!!...and that includes the RC Mary. God created Mary for a purpose, just like we were all created for a specific purpose. To pray/talk/revere anyone else is idol worship. God does not share His glory with anyone. Isaiah 42:8 - "I am the Lord; that is My name; My glory I give to NO OTHER, nor my praise to carved idols." There it is!!! But Catholics will pay no heed to God's teachings. Their desire to worship Mary more than God is absolutely frightening. They refuse to give her up. They will even change Scripture to worship her more than Jesus. There is proof that Jerome changed "He" to "She" in Genesis 3:15 by the Hebrew-to-English translation. Scripture warns that you are not to add nor take away from the Word of God without consequences. Genesis 3:15 - "I will put enmity between you and the woman, and between your offspring and her offspring; HE [Jesus] shall bruise your head, and you shall bruise His heel.” Please, please read the Word of God and pray daily. Ask our Lord sincerely and with a humble heart to show you the Truth. I asked Him to show me the Truth almost 25 years ago and He did. It shook my life up when I discovered that the Catholic church was completely wrong!!!! Catholic beliefs do not align with the Word of God. Time is running out. Jesus is returning for His church very soon. Please dear one, repent and be saved. Seek the Lord while He may be found.

Have you ever read the Gospel of Luke? All generations will call me blessed? Mary intercedes just as we ask other humans to pray/intercede for us. Mary is NOT the Mediator. No one claims she is. Who was the most important human in Solomon's kingdom? His mother, Bathsheba. Who is the most important human in Jesus' kingdom? His mother, Mary. It’s not hatred. Mike was a former Catholic and wants others to know the freedom available in Christianity outside of Rome. Christ’s sacrifice truly was once for all. Mike I’ve learnt so much from your teachings, and for that I thank you and salute you sir. However, I have to say I’m at a loss to know how you can say a born again believer can’t lose their salvation. The scriptures are full of warnings, making it clear that it’s not just about how we start our race, but how we finish it. We’re saved by grace from start to finish, if one of us turns away from the gospel of grace through Jesus to one of works, how can that then save him? 1 Cor 15:2 & Heb 6:4-6 should be enough of a warning, but there so many like them. That said, you’re doing a great job Mike, I really mean that.

RCs refuse to consult the one and only true God on such an important matter. They would prefer to continue believing whatever sinful men fed them, no questions asked, no seeking the God of the universe in prayer for answers. That is a big mistake...huge! Your eternal soul depends on the Truth and every Catholic I have ever met, refuses to go to the Lord in prayer on such a serious matter. They might be afraid of finding out the Truth or perhaps are just simply afraid of praying to their Lord and Savior because they're so used to praying to idols. Whatever the reason, it's heartbreaking because eternity in the Lake of Fire is forever. Once you're there, there is no escaping it. No amount of crying and pleading to the Lord will ever get you out of there. Your fate is sealed. And you will be reminded, for all eternity, that all you had to do was seek the Lord in prayer for His answer, but you didn't, and you'll be screaming why didn't I? Why!!! You still have time. He also said that the will of the Father in heaven was for us to believe in Jesus as the bread of life. In Matt. 16:25, Jesus said we must take up our cross, deny ourselves, and follow Him. In light of just these verses, I have eternal life if I believe Jesus died for my sins, not by taking communion. If I think I have eternal life because of something I am doing, I am trying to save my own life, by my actions, and not by faith in my redeemer. In addition, Jesus built His church upon the Rock, and He is the Cornerstone. He said He is the cornerstone that was rejected, not Peter. Peter never went to Rome to start a church. The churches that were started in Rome, were started by Jews returning home after the day of Pentecost.

What is the point of this man's presentation and the comments that follow? In my experience if I want to know God I only need to want to, and I do. My religious training is deep and extensive, but is worthless if I don't have an awareness of God in my life. My Bible study is worthless if I am concerned only with trying to understand it. Salvation is within me, no external source is needed. Something isn't true because Jesus said it. Jesus said it because it is true. I remember this; it helps immensely.

Sola fide ("by faith alone") Sola scriptura ("by Scripture alone") Sola gratia ("by grace alone") Solus Christus or Solo Christo ("Christ alone") Soli Deo gloria ("glory to God alone") Let's take a look at these and see if they are still viable today. The first thing that is striking is that if they are all "alone", then why do the other 4 even exist? In other words, if we are saved by scripture alone, then why do we even talk about grace or faith? Why do we need scripture when we are saved by grace alone? And are any of these "alones" in the Bible? A quick search shows that only one of the solas, the words "faith alone" does appear in the bible, as follows: James 2:24:You see that a man is justified by works and not by faith alone. Strange that the one sola that does appear in the bible contradicts the very sola itself. Works (good works, not useless Jewish works of the law) are part of being justified. The Catholic Church teaches that justification begins at Baptism, when the Holy Spirit comes to us, even while we are infants. And "being saved" is a lifelong journey that doesn't end until we die and are allowed into heaven. A lot of Protestants talk about "when they were saved", as if it's in the past tense. Catholics would agree that whenever you began taking your faith in Christ seriously was certainly a great time, but it was only a first step, not the entire journey. What really counts is your faith at the time of death, not your faith when you first started believing 20 years ago. The next one is "Scripture Alone", which does not appear anywhere in the bible. The text most often used by protestants to back this one up is: 2 Timothy 3:16: All scripture is inspired by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, However great this passage is, the word "alone" does not appear in it anywhere. The word profitable does not mean only. If it did, then Titus 3:8 below would mean that good deeds are all we need to be saved: "The saying is sure. I desire you to insist on these things, so that those who have believed in God may be careful to apply themselves to good deeds; these are excellent and profitable to men." Applying the word "alone" to scripture also means that anyone can properly interpret it, without the Magesterium and Sacred Tradition. In other words, the Catholic Church only claims infallibility with the official documents of the Church, spoken "ex cathedra" ("from the chair") by the Pope. This sola claims that anyone and everyone who interprets scripture on their own is infallible! And how wrong is this today, with over 30,000 Protestant denominations, with some even claiming that homosexuality is no longer sinful! The next one, "Grace Alone", isn't found in the Bible either. Catholics would agree that we are indeed saved by grace, which is a free gift from God. Where we differ is the method of how we receive that grace. The Catholic Church regularly dispenses sanctifying grace through the sacraments. The protestants believe that God just gives them grace whenever He wills it, sacraments or not. The Catholic version of this one would be that we are saved by grace, which increases our faith, and leads us to do good works as a very necessary fruit of our faith. The fourth one, "Christ Alone", also sounds great. Who could argue with the fact that we are saved by Christ alone? The problem with this is that the 3rd person of the Blessed Trinity, the Holy Spirit, also plays a HUGE role in our salvation. According to the bible, we are temples to the Holy Spirit. Peter and the other apostles all followed Jesus and ate with him, talked with him, and tried to follow him. It wasn't until Pentecost when the Holy Spirit came upon them that they received power (Acts 1:8). Catholics receive the Holy Spirit at Confirmation, and can receive Him again and again through the laying on of hands by charismatics (to reinvigorate your faith). And what about the role that the Communion of Saints plays in our salvation? They lead us to Christ, as do our parents, our friends, and our fellow Catholics. The whole problem with this particular sola is that it isolates us into a "Me and Jesus" scenario, where I don't really need a Church or a family telling me what to do. And that is so wrong. Jesus set up His Church for a reason, to be His Kingdom on earth. And this sola allows for no glory to God our Father, who we pray to each and every time we say the "Our Father" prayer. The last one is Soli Deo Gloria, or "Glory to God Alone". This one also sounds like a winner. However, there is one problem with it. Jesus Himself said in John 17:22 that He gave His glory to his apostles (at the Last Supper, when He gave them the Eucharist). And while none of the apostles' lives or works will save us in and of themselves, they are indeed one with Christ (1 Corinthians 6:17) and they are partakers in the divine nature (2 Peter 1:4). It really is okay to venerate the saints, which is not the same glory and honor we need to give to Christ. A lot of protestants confuse veneration of the saints with glory to God. Mention the Communion of Saints to a Protestant who says the Apostles' Creed every Sunday, and you will usually get a blank stare back. In other words, most Protestants who recite the Apostles' Creed say they believe in the Communion of Saints, but they do not know what it means. What it means is that the saints in heaven are our brothers and sisters in Christ who have gone before us, and who help us in our journey in this life. After all, Jesus says that they are ALIVE (Luke 20:38). And since they are partakers in the divine nature, according to 2 Peter 1:4, that means that they can hear us and help us. Catholics could come up with a lot of these solas. Since the bible says that we must eat and drink the body and blood of Jesus to have life within us (John 6), then we could say that we are saved by "The Eucharist alone". And since Paul talks about the value of personal suffering for the Church in Colossians 1:24, we could say that we are saved by "Suffering alone". And since the Bible says that the Church is the pillar and bulwark of Truth (1 Timothy 3:15), then we could formulate the doctrine of being saved by "The Church alone".And since we have to be forgiven for our sins before we can enter heaven, we could come up with the doctrine of "Confession alone". And how many more of these could we invent if we had the time? Lots. But to no purpose whatsoever. The Bible was meant to be taken as a whole, and to not be broken down into parts for convenience' sake. To sum up, all of this shorthand abbreviation for our faith in the 5 solas leads us away from the rest of what is necessary for salvation, like the Church, the Sacraments, prayer, helping the poor, performing good works, etc. After all, why do all of that if it's just me and my bible, me and Jesus, me and whatever....🤢🤢

The sacraments do not save you, good works don’t save you (they are the fruit that comes from faith in Christ), the church is the believers and they can’t save you, only Jesus can save. When you are saved you are saved but then you work out your salvation in that you grow in your knowledge and faith. If you are saved even one minute and you die you are saved for eternity, so being saved is a BIG thing. You are saved from hell. I’d say that is huge. No wonder we recall it. It’s good to remember how wretched we were when sin had a hold on us and salvation is a miracle in itself. Jesus was speaking figuratively about a spiritual matter. We are to take communion in remembrance of his broken body and shed blood. Keep reading and you will see.

Vs 61, Jesus did not back down, for He said, "Does this offend you?" it offends protestants. I do not doubt MG's sincerity. However, he was clearly very poorly catechized while he was Roman Catholic. While he has some parts correct, he is wrong about a great many things. But what? Well, that is hard to say since in the first 30 minutes of his presentation he repeatedly claimed and implied that the Church of Rome is wrong. Finally, 35 minutes after beginning his presentation he briefly lists several things, and he claims that these are distortions of the Gospel invented by Rome. But here is the problem: Almost all of the things he listed were not invented by Rome, but come directly from the words of Christ and the NT authors. Baptism, the Eucharist, following the commandments, etc. These all come directly from Scripture and witness of the early Church. Gendron thinks he against the Gospel of Rome. Rather, he is against the Gospel of Christ as demonstrated in the Scriptures and the early Church.

The gospel that is taught by many people today has been reduced down to just "faith alone". This false gospel of "faith alone" has made following the commandments of Christ null and void. Peter's name means 'rock'. But our Lord was not using Greek when he spoke those words. He was using Aramaic. In John 1:42 we read, "He brought Simon to Jesus, who looked at him and said, ‘You are Simon son of John. You are to be called Cephas’ (which is translated Peter)." "Cephas" is the anglicized version of the Aramaic 'kepha', which means rock. When the Church excavated the ancient Roman necropolis beneath St. Peter's Basilica in Rome in the 1940's, they found St. Peter's tomb. Among the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th century graffiti they found a lot of images of keys, indicating that not only is the plain text reading of Mathew 16:17-19 clear, but it's how the early Church interpreted the text as well.

The latter had all the Catholic Old Testament books in it, plus a listing of Catholic feast days. Protestants don't even have the King James bible of King James!

I have one honest question, not trying to troll. If salvation cannot be lost then why would Paul care what the corinthains did with the gospel? If someone can be accursed, then does that not mean they lose salvation? If I understand this correct, salvation can only be found through one gospel, the word of God, for the only way to know Christ our savior, is through sound doctrine? Im just making sure I understand correctly. On a side note, personally I find that James 2 explains things without being confusing when it comes to becoming a new person. Most sermons are more confusing then James 2. To love Christ is to know him and follow him (his example and commandments) for he is the only way to the Father. Knowing the true, by their fruits. This is why we examine ourselves and all things with the sound word of God.

Where was the actual Eucharist where you practice cannibalism, not caring that God is against this, and deliberately ignoring this fact when it’s brought up to you to explain. Where in scripture is the priest with special powers to do hocus pocus during transubstantiation? Where are these scriptures? The last time I asked this if you, you have me nothing. You couldn’t answer me. If you can’t answer truthfully, then doesn’t it make it a lie? False? Yet you’re willing to continue believing in that out of the guilt of your church. Protestants don't consider what Lamb of God means. The term refers to lambs which, for Jews, took on their sins and then were eaten. Early Christians recognized this in the Eucharist. That's why John the Baptist calling Jesus the Lamb of God was so shocking.

Wonder why Mike Gendron couldn't answer John Martignoni questions. We are still waiting for an answer to where does the Bible say it is the sole rule of Christian faith. Mike spends plenty of time telling folks what he thinks the bible statements mean as though he is the sole interperter of Scripture.
