Israel is SO fortunate to have such dedicated men & women on their soil. We, too, here in the United States did not understand nor appreciate the love & dedication of families & individuals that, despite coming from a foreign land, could be so strongly dedicated to their adoptive country: If one has to EARN their citizenship, instead of simply having it handed to them, unlike an inheritance, the bonds have the potential to be powerfully strong. This isn't something that can be stereotyped, nor is it even a characteristic. It must be individually earned. Cedric Garin, and I suspect his whole family, not doubt did this. In World War II, the 442nd Infantry Regiment became the most decorated in U.S. military history. As units were racially segregated at the time, it was composed almost entirely of second-generation American soldiers of Japanese ancestry. Many recruits came from U.S. internment camps, where descendants of Japanese immigrants were relocated because of the fear of potential sabotage following the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor. In the end, far from it. I hope Israel learns what we here in the U.S. did, and benefits from the fruits that God, and their dedicated immigrants, have wrought onto them.
