The famous eight bells of Rosate (Italy)

This is the video that made my channel famous worldwide, first reaching 1 million views in just a few years. This now viral video shows the famous bells of Rosate (Milan, Italy), famous throughout the area for their size and beauty, and recently returned also to be played by real bell ringers thanks to the ropes. The bells were cast in Milan in 1888; the sixth bell was replaced in 1952 due to a crack. The bell tower of Rosate is an excellence in the art world, as the town is world-famous for its bells and its famous Christmas piva played by the band. The bells are playing a concert in honour of St Stephen, the town's patron saint.
The prepositurale church in Rosate was founded in the early 10th century. It was one of the most important churches in Lombardy, so much so that the first collaborators of Archbishop Ariberto d'Intimiano moved here. The ancient parish church already comprised sixteen parishes a few years after its foundation. In 1797, the slow decline of Rosate's dominance over the entire area began. The church of Santo Stefano was completely rebuilt in its present form starting in 1836. After putting engines to the eight bells, it was decided in 2010 to restore the ancient keyboard for the playing of melodies and music; the parish itself restored the entire bell tower complex in 2022, the year in which the strings were returned to all the bells.

Abito a Monza da quando sono nato: credo di aver sempre sentito le campane ogni sabato e domenica mattina. Stamani, come ogni sabato mattina (appunto), mi sono svegliato sempre col suono delle summenzionate: per tutta la giornata ho avuto quella melodia, in testa, che si ripeteva…e quella stessa melodia l’ho piacevolmente scovata (e ri-assoparata) in questo rilassantissimo video; Grazie
