Ethiopia is home to around 80 ethnic groups where approximately 46 are living in the Omo Valley. We have met a few of them and are able to visit their homes and have a glimpse of their way of life.
Hamer Tribe
known for their unique custom of "bull jumping," which initiates a boy into manhood
Kara tribe
Known for their face and body painting
Mursi tribe
Known for using lip plate, a form of body modification
Banaa Tribe
Known for agriculture and from living in small communities
Dorze Tribe
Known for their weaving skills and elephant-shaped huts
Konso Tribe
Known for their stone-walled terraces and fortified settlements
Ari Tribe
They are agricultural and pottery-making indigenous ethnic group
