It is a little odd that they weren't able to keep the crossover characters, as they're all owned by Capcom- but despite that, I would consider this to BE the premium version over the original.

I enjoyed how you were able to both show some of the game's good and bad aspects, instead of leaning to one of the sides. Nice review!

Thanks, I always try to do so; even for games I enjoy, they have weaknesses, and those I don't have strengths. Also, in case of games I don't like, I do try to recommend them to others that may enjoy them if I think I know a crowd that will get more out of them than I will.

Absolutely love this game. It's probably my 2nd favorite mobile game (Dead Cells being #1). I grew up really liking Mega Man (53) ...but wasn't great at it. I just beat my 1st playthrough with S Hunter Zero using Gatling gun and launcher. I started off full damage, then midway thru had to change skills to add def... switched shield skill (2) and was basically invincible the rest of the game. As long as I activated my shield at boss start and refreshed when needed, I melted all bosses in story and never dropped health unless the shield dropped (died twice on Vai when shield dropped)

Yeah, anyone with a good shield skill or healing is pretty close to invincible; most of the DiVE Armor versions of characters are especially broken, even moreso than S-Rank Hunter Zero (but you don't unlock them until near the end of story mode).

i mean i sunk almost 80 hours into it so far and i'm having fun. so it must be doing something right. mega man fans are eatin' good this year. the battle network legacy collections are great, and x dive finally becomes a good game. theres already a budding modding community thats already added some crazy shit already!

I still need to get the Battle Network collections myself, but I fully intend to eventually. I am glad to see that more companies are making a series effort to port their classic games to PC- it used to feel like Sega was the only one that cared, now it feels like Capcom and Konami are both doing a decent job.

I'm from Europe/Germany. We never received the regular X Dive on any platform, so I was happy to pick it up. I wish the stages were combined to one or two of the same base but at the same time I am also pleased with the game for quick bursts and the fact that Capcom actually dared to un-gacha a game for offline use entirely is something we haven't seen a lot before. Wish Nintendo would do the same with Mario Kart Tour tbh since that is also a fun game. Picking up X Dive gives me the excuse to play as Trigger, Super MegaMan and Shooting Star MegaMan in the X/ZX series (sorta) too, so I can't complain :D

Always good to hear when a title reaches regions it couldn't previously! I didn't realize the "global" version wasn't available in Europe, that actually rather surprises me. As for Nintendo's mobile games, I'm surprised they haven't released an offline version of Super Mario Run; it doesn't have any microtransactions, so it'd be a lot easier to convert than a gacha. Also hope Square will bring back Valkyrie Anatomia with an offline version- the writing was great from what I played, but soon turned into your typical microtransaction-fest.

I wish they kept the capsule system ALONG with their level unlock system. My favorite character is Shadow Armor X and you don't get him till the 3rs final act...

I don't think that the gachapon system would have been the best answer, but some of the choices that they kept locked behind the late game were kind of odd.

@@AdamTheFanatic It would be seasonal, MegaMan Spring, X Summer, EXE and Starforce Autumn, and legends with ZX winter. That way you wouldn't have to progress to unlock your favorite character.☺️

I just got it. It has a lot of stuff, but is there a way to play it separately, Mega Man 1, Mega Man 2... not on the story mode. I would like to play the classic way, battle the enemies and find with power I need to defeat the next one. An example, an enemy that has fire, defeat it with water after getting that power from another enemy. The games of the series separately, but I couldn't find that mode... It's available?

I'm afraid not; because they want every level to be playable by every character, it does rather limit what they could do in that regard.

Is there a way to unlock the natural skins for each Buster? It would have been a really nice touch for the C Grade Buster to morph into whatever characters natural looking buster is. I use the Wind Pressure Buster on my Thunder Mega Man but I wish I could have the buster that matches his character skin. They all have them in their character animations in the inventory. Some are really glaring like Third Armor X - his buster looks awesome in his inventory animation and it’s really annoying I can’t play with it…

I don't believe there is, I'm afraid. The best you can do is try to find a weapon that looks similar, at least to the best of my knowledge.

Yeah i definitely agree with you. ! We really don't need an SD Mega Man or seasonal costumed characters. Where is General or Double or even High Max. ?? Id rather have those then Dr. Light dressed up like Ryu. 🤣😐

I didn't mind Dr. Light since he was actually dressed like that in X1, and it's the only playable version of him in the game.

Even i played the online version for 1 year, someone gifted me the offline version and somehow i find starting from 0 in offline fun, i still enjoy the game tho and the best is no rushes, you can play anytime you want without any obligatory daily stuff

Being able to take it at your own pace is great. Want to take it easy and just play a level a day? Want to binge a few hours over the weekend? No more having to rush events because they'll be gone in a few days- this is how gaming should be.

I enjoyed the online version if it wasnt for those cheaters ruining the game itself not to mention their customer service sucks and im glad they decided to make an offline version

Were they cheating, or were the characters just imbalanced? There's some major disparities between strong and weak characters from what I've seen.

@@AdamTheFanatic not imbalanced they were technically using a 1 shot kill and a god mode hack in pvp because in xdive's pvp all stats reset to lvl 1 and then suddenly you got killed in 1 shot right after the match started

@@AdamTheFanatic and thats why i quit the game due to it because capcom taiwan is unknowingly supporting the cheaters themselves
