Wipe day as a solo can be very difficult, but I had a plan to build a business and sell all my tea, hemp, and extra materials for the items I would need to be successful. This strategy didn't come without some unwanted attention from nearby groups though...

@GusRust Farming suggestion - 2x5 planters, 1 pump per floor, 2 sprinklers per floor, 2 lights per floor, 1 solar panel per floor. 1 pump can do, 4 sprinklers; 2 sprinklers can adequately water 5 planters (Bad Genetics "W" might be a problem); 2 lights can cover 4 planters. More floors = more pumps, sprinklers, lights, and solar panels. Each different pump powers its own floor. 2x5 is planters only, rest of base needs space too. Sprinklers cover every planter box it touches, so place them not in the center, but off to one side, so it hits 5 on one side, and 5 on the other side. Benefits of this setup. Fluid combiner - is not necessary. Fluid pump - not necessary *(Unless you go over a certain height). Less components, less electrical, easier/faster build. Common complaints - planters never get full? Answer: Planters do not need to be full of water to have the plant be 100%. As long as you do not have bad "W" genetics your plants will grow at 100%.

*Correction - 1 sprinkler can supply 5 planters. 3 mLs can supply a planter (Bad Genetics W will effect for Hemp). Thus 1 pump, can supply up to 4 Sprinklers; So 2 floors of a 2 by 5 = 20 planters. No need for fluid combiner unless you are using salt water -> Water Purifier. Water pipes - Water in Rust flows down hill, so when piping start on the higher floor, and let the water flow down to the bottom floor.

Great video man. As an FYI, you should be able to avoid adding the fluid switch when building your second floor if you just disconnect your water pumps from the first floor sprinklers and connect them to the second floor sprinklers first. Then the second floor can gravity feed the first floor.

i think an interesting exercise, and not something Ive seen anyone else do within the confines of a movie, would be to do the math on the tea farm. What you put into it -> what you get out. selling the teas at 200 scrap i wonder how much scrap that is per hour, to compare to other scrap gathering methods.

Solar panels should always be placed north, not middle map. Middle map is the old way of doing it and no longer applies to current Rust. Rust has a calander now. Throughout the wipe, the sun moves around. The first week, north facing solar is stronger but as you get into the second week, south is stronger. It keeps going between. Because the sun moves as the calander progresses. However, the low end of north is 9 and the low end of south is 6. It's better to place north because the lowest you'll have is 9/hr on 2nd and 4th week. Sidbog did a video on how all this works.

Next time you need to get loot out, you'd be better off soft siding a stone wall. Or use your body as the drop box. Put your back against a wall, look straight up, then kill yourslef. The body will stick through the wall creating a makeshift dropbox that has way more room to transfer stuff.

@GusRust you don't need a fluid switch pump to pump up to your upper floors. disconnect your feed on the first floor and do a top down approach. from your pumps up to the top floor then down. the only time you'd need a fluid switch pump would be when purifiers are involved.

Gus, @34:18 you do not need a fluid switch pump as you stated, nor do you need the combiner you placed @23:09. You can run all of your sprinklers directly off your water pumps, just daisy chain them together (5 sprinklers/pump), you placed 2 water pumps=10 sprinklers.
