I don’t think I would be blaming the shearers for the spread of scab , the fact is that it’s a problem that is caused by not dipping all sheep in the country at least once a year with a good dip! We all know that about half of the flocks out there are never dipped just given a bit of ivermectin when they start to scratch.

Thinking of breeding pedigree suffix ewes with a pedigree texel rams, to produce good strong ewe lambs and plan to keep the ewe lambs for a pedigree belclaire? My thought is that I would have good decent fast growing lambs and with the belclare on them would bring up the numbers for lambing and hopefully still produce great lambs for the up coming season, Wasting my time or would you say just have good texels rams on decent mixed lowland ewe breeds?
