Since my lady wife passed away, I've had to do my own ironing. Trouser ironing is akin to a black art. I've watched your video a few times but a perfectly ironed pair of chinos or cords, eludes me still. I use a steam generator iron and my board is squared at both ends. All I end up doing is redistributing the many creases to different places!

Bought a vintage pair of Armanis that hadn't seen the light of day in ages. My first time pressing pants but this video saved my life. Short and consize, while explaining all the folds perfectly. Thank you!

As soon as he said: "I did this every night after school", I knew I was in good hands. Think about it, back then the attention to detail was fine, he did it daily...etc. Great video, you've gotten yourself a like and a subscriber. :)

@@BenNeedsATheme4aDream Well i dont know what he is on about, all trousers have a recommendation about heat. Or you can blast it on max and use a cloth like on the vid.

If you iron your trousers under a cloth, you can have a hotter iron, which will generate hotter steam, without scorching the fabric of the trousers, or causing shiny spots. But make sure you turn the pocket bags AWAY from the area you are ironing, to prevent unsightly imprints of the pocket bags on the outer of the trouser fabric. For wool trousers, ironed under a cloth, you can set the iron to hot, between the 2 and 3 dot markers, and the steam to maximum. But DO NOT allow the iron to sit in one spot for more than a few seconds. Polyester trousers require a lower temperature, no higher than two dots, and again, under a COTTON cloth, such as a SMOOTH tea towel, or even an old pillow case. Always use white or cream cloths to prevent colour transfer to light coloured trouser fabrics. And ALWAYS use steam, or a fine mist of water, sprayed directly on to the ironing cloth. Cotton Chinos can be ironed with Maximum heat (3 Dots) but always use an ironing cloth to prevent scorching the trousers. When ironing the inside crotch and seat area, use a cooler iron, a cloth is not strictly necessary for the inside, but make sure you don't iron on top of the pocket bags, fold them back out the way.

Great video, but I couldn't stop thinking about pulling your tie further down into your vest!
@OrrosGG3 жыл бұрын
That’s not needed, it’s of course subjective but the necktie like that is an act of extravagance and nonchalant elegance. It emphasizes the necktie and brings eye attention to it, making the ensemble more interesting.

Look at the care tag on your clothes. If you see one dot on the iron it means low heat. 2 dots mean high-low (a little warmer than low). 3-4 dots is high heat. The 3 waves or steam cloud means use steam. An X over the iron means don't iron. Every iron should have the dots on the dial and a steam feature.
