This is the first installment of the Fast & Furious Replica Build, but the second in our series for this project. Follow along as we use inspiration from Craig Lieberman (the original owner of the icon Supra used in the film).
We pull the 1J the car came with and break down the 2J going into this build.

Excited for the build. The FnF Supra really cemented my love for the car back in the 90's. I ended up buying my first MKIV in 2003 and had the Bomex bodykit imported from Titan Motorsports (I'm in the UK) and fitted. The car was only an NA 5sp, but I loved it. Ended up selling as finances were tight earning shit money with an expensive taste in cars, but always dreamed of owning another which happened in 2013 with my UK-Spec Auto which was completely stock. The car ended up featuring on the Toyota stand next to the beautiful FT-1 at Goodwood Festival of Speed and has been in Top Gear magazine also. I enjoyed the stock/bpu life for years, but have recently swapped the trans to the Grannas Racing T56 Magnum F and I'm building my single turbo kit as we speak. For your build, that Supra reliability and replicating the iconic sound of the OG car would be quite high up the list for me. I've seen you guys mention the Greddy Power Extreme exhaust, but if you really want that same sound, see if you can source an RPS manifold (which was on the OG car). They do suffer from boost creep if you're going to run a modern turbo though. SP Performance have done a remake of the RPS manifold or alternatively Future Fab's manifold also has that same note to it and their manifolds are very reasonably priced and well made. @3:23 unless an R154 was swapped in this mk4 supra, Toyota Never made the MK4 supras with R154 Transmissions whether Tripod style like the Chaser, Soarer, etc or the older style like that in the Mk3's. The MK4 supras only came with the 5 Speed Tripod Style W58 Transmissions which are weaker than the R154's or they came with the holy grail 6 Speed V160's. @6:32 now it all makes sense. did notice the engine the harmonic balancer was being removed from was different from the 1JZ head engine (in this case an actual 1jz lol). also noticed it being front sump n not rear... @19:07 happy to see the build, not so psyched on the F&F style......... maybe tribute without the stickers like a modern day edge but F&F inspired?

We still have our eyes out for this as an option, but our IS300 Sportcross is running the trans we picked and is running 500HP without issue. Who knows though, maybe we change our minds?

I highly recommend not going with the CD009 trans and get a Grannas racing T56 swap if your not going V160. The CD009 drives awful in the Supra.

Umm could run a water cooled turbo without the water lmfao. People do it all the time. Its still oil cooled. And yall putting a shit trans in. And that serial 9 shifter is ass too

We've thrown some serious power at this combination in the past without issue. Did you have this setup and it failed? Why do you not like it?

@@JustDriven serial 9 shifter has a crap reverse lockout. Which makes it hard to comfortably shift into 6 cuz might be reverse. And its hard to find 5th. Im not the only one with that shifter issues. 3 of my local friends had same issue. As for cd its self Been getting locked out at highish rpm. I was revving to 8k and it would lock me out mid shift. Ended up just going to t56 because that cd009 was the worst part of when i had a 2j fd3s

The fast & furious supra was ugly that ugly wing on the back. I prefer the stock one it was completely riced out and orange of all colors and not yellow? I don’t think Craig Lieberman or whoever directed fast and the furious understood how the street racing underground tuner scene was as a lot of tuners felt insulted by the movie because the way it portrayed them as stupid and ignorant.
