I recall as an 11 -12 year old in the 1960's how harmonically / emotionally hitting their vocals along with excellent matching arrangements drew me in- on an AM broadcast signal!

I think everybody's Monday sucked then, & when it came around, we were all singing with Cass. I still know all the words to that song & Cass made us sound so good. Great lady! Too bad her life was so short.

The Mamas & The Papas truly impacted my life. I actually made a serious career decision when after asking God for a sign & turning on the radio in a Chicago Taxi, California Dreamin’ came blasting out of the speaker. That was April 1980. By July of that year I was practicing law in LA.

Cass Elliot, I liked mamas and papas. They did sing well together. Cass, she has a beautiful voice. I thought she was pretty! Her weight couldn't be easy for her. It was hard on her. She kept herself up. Her hair and her face. She was well groomed. She was my favorite out of the two ladies. She died young

. They were young, got high, had incredibly blended talents, a lot of sex, huge egos, sensitive, Cass? That voice was formidable. They combusted. Brilliant music came from pain drama. I see all time at work, they were lucky they didn’t end up blowing everything. If you are a fan ? I want to do a full listen start to finish. Like a meditation.

I enjoyed the Vietnamese Cover Band, The Mama-Sans and Papa-Sans. The East Indian Cover Band the Bombay Doors were also amusing. I'll show myself out. LOL!

It's kinda sad. There are some of us out there who feel they'd have fit in better in the 60s. I'd have dated Cass. She was pretty. Bigger or not. The Mamas and the Papas, ehh. Not so bad I guess. Too bad it was short lived. Not everyone can be the Rolling stones I guess
