With due respect, there is a spelling error in your comment, it is horrorific title and not honorific. These titles can be bought by lesser mortals. One friend was offered a horrorific title and he was even given a price list stretching from the common garden variety, Datuk to the Tun or Tan Sri. Of course it is also tier payment lah. Kak Mariam such truism again. With due respect, not all convicted felons are incarcerated straightaway. Some especially in regards to white collar crimes, can seek bail and then file an appeal. Only those who are involved in murders and heinous crimes are usually denied bail and those with flight risks. Yes, this roaming free and even campaigning in elections like Malacca and Johore do not augur well for the reputation of a supposedly country with Rule of Law as its mantra. The worst is he continues to sit in Parliament voting on legislations as these legislations are tainted by the vote of a convicted felon. But the judicial system in Malaysia has been degraded over the years that most judicial officials will be hard press to understand the fundamentals of a working judicial system. But like our southern neighbour, whose persecution of the nephew of the PM is still on-going when he opined that the judicial officers are all compliant to the government wishes and desires. The lack of effort has been tremendous as the kleptocrat has already squealed recently on the bekas PM's corrupt practices from the messages I received on Whatsapp. His persecution will no doubt yield more of these juicy corrupt practices and not because these corrupt individuals are frightened they will be next but rather the fear of the cat being let out of the bag.
