The Specialized Tarmac has been tried and tested over the course of the last two decades and has since prevailed as one of the most winningest road bikes in entirety of the 21st century. The SL7 version was released in 2020 as Specialized's latest and fastest edition and has had zero problems maintaining its status as the meanest bike in the peloton.

Still riding my Venge. They just don’t make them like that anymore!

The cycling industry did a great job of making us forget that the rider makes the bike 💸💵🤑

Exactly, between the SL7 and Canyon both Aero bikes only gave me an extra .5 mph over one hour compared to my Emonda 14 pound rim brake bike...But the Emonda I can ride for 2-4 hours without any discomfort.

How do you get notifications so you know when to post on every bike over a certain dollar amount? Oh? That’s not you? It sure seems like it. Are they all friends of yours? Do you plan this together?

You know I don't see myself dishing out 17,000 for a bike I will stick with my giant contend 3 which is a fast bike that was under $900 end my top speed is 31.24 mph yes the giant kitten 3 is a little outdated with does Shimano claris group set but eventually I will upgrade to the 105

It will get you an extra 1/2 mile in an hour ride but there are many more comfortable bikes...So would you give up comfort for a difference of 19.5 mph than 19 mph???,..ask that after a 2 or 3 hour ride...Answer NO.

This is true. I had a 10 year old aluminium trek which I replacwd with a new carbon aero custom bike.... Looks so good but causes me shoulder and knee pain

@@Alimukzyou know the Allez has mostly the same geometry as the tarmac and is a lot cheaper.

$15,000 for a bicycle with a "Made in Taiwan" sticker on the downtube -- the 'S' in 'S-WORKS' must stand for 'Sucker'. Never in my life...
@janemf

What’s wrong with Taiwan? They make fantastic soup and noodles, I guess it’s not about quality in this case? You just don’t like Taiwan? What’s that called again?

@@janemf I don't have a problem with Taiwan whatsoever, I do however take issue with an 'American company' pricing a bicycle at $15,000 when it wasn't manufactured here -- that's bullshit. That kind of astronomical pricing for a bicycle should be reserved solely for boutique bikes such as Colnago C-series models, No. 22, ENVE, Moots, etc. -- bicycles that were handmade within the same country that the company is from, not in a Taiwanese factory where that price point is by no means justified.

One thing that's often forgotten is the R&D cost. Labor and material costs are one way to save money, but for a cutting-edge design, there is a lot of work that goes into figuring out how to save marginal gains.

Would love to have one but I'll just wait a year or two and get it used for nearly half the retail price
