Switch to medium ERS in the braking zone, as the energy is harvested and not deployed while braking, so you're harvesting the same amount, but you have that extra acceleration when you get on the throttle compared to having it in None and only switching to Medium in 3rd or 4th gear. Also, the energy harvests in Medium mode when on like 80% throttle or less - you can try this down a straight. Meaning in the sector 1 S's at Suzuka, leaving it in medium actually still harvests more than it deploys because you're not on full throttle in that section. While setill getting the extra power when you do accelerate out of the corners

I will say the same as i said in the live stream, you cant be saving battery for the whole race and only use it when you are gonna pit or in the final lap, Jarno for example is alot like you, but he knows when he has to use alot of his battery if he is clearly faster, you could have had a chance at the win, but you wanting to swap drs with the guys behind to save battery was a mistake, they made mistakes which cost you time, and you were clearly faster, if only you had used your ers, especially in this year's game its so easy to recover it, please next time use ers if you need to, especially japan with so many braking zones its so easy to recover the battery.

For subsequent races where you aren’t certain about fuel, try asking your engineer for fuel update. He’ll tell you the exact amount of fuel (in laps) you have left. You then calculate with the lap counter if it’s enough to make it to the end. PS : it’s better to do this in practice so you know the exact amount needed to finish the race without a safety car.

I actually spun at the pit lane entry in the rain because my rear tires locked up. As a result, I lost a lot of time because the game reset me in the middle of the pit lane entry. Big GG

ERS does not use more fuel, in reality it’s less because you get an electric boost and are on the throttle less time due to being faster down any part of the track you use it

The detection zones are on your map, it’s all the way back before 130R

I'm pretty sure the detection is just before the final chicane, as the green circles indicate the DRS detection points. The line before 130R is the sector 2 split

You lost 3 tenths each lap at Spoon. You're going into it staying in 3rd gear. Each time you exit Spoon, you've lost 3 tenths to the person behind and in front religiously. I think a quick drop to 2nd then back to 3rd would work. Perhaps it's only with the Ferrari you have to do this.
