I didn’t know pelicans had a golf course. We have pelicans snow cones here but just the stands. You should always use the same kind of ball for fairness sakes :)

You are getting your Disney Cartoons mixed up. You mention that Chip and Dale mess with Donald's Golf ball, but in the cartoon "Donald's Golf Game" it is Huey Duey and Louie that mess with the golf ball. The gopher you are referring to is from the cartoon "Pluto and the Gopher" in which a gopher messes up Mickey and Plutos golf game.
