I'm probably one of them rare cases. Alcoholic for about 22 years. My last 2 i was taking about 5 pints to the face daily. The last year withdrawals almost killed me. Coma, BAC of 39%, 1st stages of cirrhosis. Delirium like crazy. Shakes. All of it. After relapses and multiple hospitalizations where once I couldn't walk due to so many vitamins and minerals deprecated out of my body. July 23, 22 was the day I officially put all drugs and alcohol down. November 5, 2023 215 lbs and I said enough is enough. Read her book. Read David Goggins, listened to Andrew Huberman got into my circadian rhythm, fasted, drank my electrolytes, take my creatine, vitamins, minerals daily, meal prep 4 months after I was 125 lbs. Currently 125 lbs i don't want to pick up or do any drugs. It's a hard lonely road but my gosh i feel and look better than I ever did. I'm about to be 37 and doing a marathon Dec 8. Anything is possible, if YOU want to achieve it! Fasting saved my life. Thank you Dr. Mindy!😊 i run 3 to 5 miles a day along with 30 mins of weightlifting. If anyone would love to give me kudos, words of encouragement or witness my transformation follow me on IG: AngieRuns2024 Thank you all for these kind words. All of you truly helped me these past days with all these comments. My marathon is about 2 weeks away, did I mention it's my 37th birthday as well?!

Mental health plays a bigger role. Eating with family, positive social network, raising kids, loving your spouse and spreading peace and happiness

Indeed! But you never know if those things would bring good or bad mental health to a particular person. If you are not ready or choose a bad partner you may end up in huge anxiety and depression. I am happy with my family but if I had started a family earlier in life with my ex partner I would have been burried in pain for sure.

Not if your not mentally healthy with food. Food is used as a celebration, it’s used to help sadness, anxiety and Boredom for a lot of people. I stumbled upon Dr. Pelz’s interview about 4-5 mos ago. I was in this cycle of just being tired all the time, being so emotional and angry before my period. Gaining wt eventhough I don’t believe I eat a lot. I read her book, started wearing a CGM and just slowly easing into the fasting lifestyle. I now have done 2 72 hrs of fasting without a struggle. I’m currently on my 3rd try for the 72 hrs fasting. I used to love chocolate that I can finish a big toblerone in one sitting. Now, I have a hard time finishing one piece of chocolate. I’ve changed my taste buds and it’s unbelievable. I’ve lost some weight but don’t stress with the number in the scale. I feel good and that’s what matters 😊

@@MrRoxy313 I've read that before and after is good. In my case, I did intermittent fasting before then 2 days fast afterwards- the main reason is to keep my mouth free from any food particles as I didn't plan on taking any antibiotics. What is your fast like?
@gamecrusher2024Ай бұрын
Yes, fasting is much easier than people think. The problem is, they forget that they are fasting for however many hours they are sleeping, as well. All they have to do is, subtract their sleeping hours from their fasting window and that is the actually time that they are going without food. For example: I fast for 16 hours and sleep for 8. So, in reality, I am only "fasting for 8 hours. Which isn't very long at all. I hope this makes sense.

I couldnt find out what I have done wrong because my diet is healthy and I focus on gut health. I am 44 years old and now I realize that this is because I am pre menopausal. I am suddenly more sensitive to carbs and have more blood sugar spikes, and I suddenly crave more sweets and sugary carbs, which I havent craved in years. These changes have occurred the last 12 months, and just out of "nothing", with no active changes from my side. This speech really made things fall into place, thank you so much!

Currently working with a Naturopath for my gut health issues (severe bloating, constipation, fatigue, inability to lose weight, poor skin health, etc). Started fasting for the first time in my life. Enjoy doing an 18-19 hr fast each day..but I would advise those with gut health issues (IBS/SIBO) to not just eat eat eat during their eating window. It is crucial to have about a 4 hr gap in between meals and about 3-4hrs of no eating before bed. So, that means I eat 2 meals per day (in my eating window with a 4 hr break in between). Zero snacking. I am blowing on a device several times a day to see how I'm digesting. Thus lifestyle looks MUCH better on the device than when I was trying to have a nibble here and a nibble there. Just a tip for those that have gut issues and hear that they can eat whatever/ whenever within their "eating window". It's not quite like that. You may feel a lot better with 2 meals and no eating for 4 hrs, at least, in between those 2 meals.

I do alternate day fasting and I swear her point from minute 25 to 28 is spot on ! After time you no longer can stomach to stand the food you used to eat and I’m utterly shocked from it .. this podcast is fire 🔥 and I’m definitely getting her books
@dollarsmum3453Ай бұрын
Yes, me too--getting her book & THANK YOU JAY! I wouldn't have looked into this bc I'm a 57 yr old female but not overweight but realize now why I'm so tired, brain fogged, sleeping poorly (diagnosed with Narcolepsy, primarily Hypersomnia), and just this summer, I learned from Sadhguru that my food builds the body/mind that I live or suffer with (duh!) and not just adding weight, plus all about the world's nutrient less soil😢, and now this Doctor has taught me SO much more about how to manage (diet-wise) to create the "better" me that I wish to create! YAY! Thank you. Thank you. Thank you, Jay,, and this wonderful & dedicated Doctor! Blessed be!

However, I wanted to mention also how useful her information has been for my husband as well. He understands my hormonal shifts, and it's been impactful on our relationship. I really feel that men will benefit from her content for this reason. So take in all of her information, fellas out there🥰💙💚

Hi Jay great and invaluable show. Please do a show on the dangers of men and women drinking wine espcsnd alcohol every day after work. Is this a silent form of alcoholism? I see women especially doing this as a way to relax. Are there repercussions?

Mindy, please write a book called: 'Fast Like A Fella' 🙏🏻 I can't get my ol man on board with fasting because he thinks it doesn't apply to men 🙄 he is missing so much good info about his health because of this. Its super annoying because our eating patterns are dischordant. Which means I am cooking twice sometimes. He is 30 pounds overweight and could really use getting healthy. So pleeeeeeaze address the man thing for us🙏🏻 Love you. 💚💚💚💚

She is talking about intermittent fasting. And being a Muslim we know that even Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) used to eat very little which used to depend on the availability of the food. So she is not targeting Muslim fasting. Of course the way we do during Ramadan is the best way taught by Allah and Prophet.
