Very enjoyable. I’m glad to see an example forced rotation polish. The car came out looking great. I believe the Rupes DA pads have actually superseded their Mille pads now for forced rotation too. What was the Gyeon coating for the plastic trim?

That's interesting about the pads, I've used these a number of times and I'm really finding them enjoyable to use on the forced rotation AND they're holding up. The Gyeon plastic coating is Gyeon Trim. I really prefer this to The Gtechniq offering (I want to say C5, but I can't remember 💯).

Adrian did a fantastic job on it. Very pleased and would recommend him to anyone. Just one minor point it’s a 986S not a 987.

Crikey I think 😎 were needed for that one. Great video as always and the forced rotation looks to be a very capable machine at a decent price too, I've too many machines so I must resist.

When I took the after shots I was definitely thinking "damn, this looks SO good!" - vanity I'd a terrible thing 😆 I completely agree with you on the need to resist btw, or relate to it at least. That's kinda why I went with the In2Detailing ones on the end actually, for the price of a PXE80 I could get all these different types of polishers, and then get to try various things out that I couldn't do before....but I swear now that I'll probably end up reaching for this Forced one first and the others will only come out when it's not really working well.

Rim mats look required here 😂

I generally use vented garage floor tiles as I was using them lint before Rim Mats existed...and they're yellow! Fortunately this was quite deep gravel and wasn't throwing muck up, but if it had been then they would have been out in force.

Great video and great info. Is that a 2004 986.v2 S ? I only ask because that’s what I have, with the 6-speed manual 🤠🇺🇸

@@SuperchargedLlama oh yes.. I'm in hill country. Cincinnati is right on the boarder of Kentucky,, so lots of hills with winding roads. I love it.. I'm just now getting used to the car. I know they can do things other cars can't or struggle with. The car is so damn balanced, like it turns as if it was on rails. It's not the fasted car out there, but man it's quick. almost 300hp in a car that weighs just under 3000 pounds. With that rato, she'll get up and boogie. :) :) :)

Bloomin' lovely content bud, a nice easy watch. I really think I will be grabbing some S20 black for the autumn polish. I'm not big into polishing, and my paint is decent, so 1 whizz around with the machine sounds perfect. What grade pad was that, soft, medium, hard etc? All the best.
@SuperchargedLlama
@SuperchargedLlama Жыл бұрын
Cheers dude. The pad is Rupes Yellow Foam - which they call their fine pad. They have white which is their finishing pad, and blue which is their cutting one (and in all of that, they have wool and microfiber in each colour, so there's grades of cut in those colour bands). I tend to only really need the Yellow range for one step enhancements, the blue range is too coarse and doesn't finish down. If I need more bite I find I reach for the Uro Fibre 50/50 pad.

@Supercharged Llama Detailing nice one, thanks for the info. I have a couple of Koch Medium pads, they'd be a little too heavy I guess. I'll grab the rupes yellow and some S20 nearer the time. Thank you again. 😊

Hand wash and hand wax. If you are using a buffer you are going to screw up your paint. Do NOT do that. You are taking off clear. Do it by hand. Not a big car for gods sake.
@SuperchargedLlama
@SuperchargedLlama 10 ай бұрын
I feel like you've completely missed the point of paint corrections and enhancements...and ceramic coatings. To remove the swirls from the paint you have to remove the clear a bit so that it's more level, and therefore the edges of the swirls are less severe, meaning they don't refract the light in the same way. Polishing removes them, the ceramic coating helps prevent them from occuring so easily, but it generally doesn't fill, hence why you do the polishing first. I use a paint thickness guage (not shown in the video) to make sure I've got a suitable amount of clear to work with, you'd not do it if it was too thin, that would be reckless - a lot of detailers shoot from the hip so you have to watch out for that. PPF is the only real way to protect paint from scratches, but you'd still correct it first as you don't want the paint looking swirly under the PPF. Washing and waxing has its place, but there's only so much it can do on terms of improving the looks of the paint - but you could do that every few months, where as polishing....well this wasn't that aggressive, but ultimately you'd only want to do it every couple of years or so really, if you out a 5 year coating on and have a great wash process, even a daily driven vehicle will need a polish in about 3 or so years.

@SuperchargedLlama Жыл бұрын
@@Tops1212 cheers dude! I agree with you that, outside of the UK, BH prices aren't good at all, and it's problematic with AutoFoam and Touch-Less due to the volume used. SF is max 2% PIR, and that out performs AutoFoam I felt, or at least equals is. The only downside is that it comes in 10kg drums (here at least)
