I'm considering buying this router, but, contrary to what the reviewer says, this router is not supported by Merlin firmware. Merlin supports broadcom based routers, and this router is using a Qualcomm chipset. Merlin has no plans to support Qualcomm based routers at the current time 😞

With the Asus rog GT Ax11000, I getting 700 to 800 MB wifi speeds. This would be a tough sell for those of us that have the ax11000.

@@gnewt75 you cannot install Merlin yet as they haven’t made a firmware for it (and likely won’t. It’s too niche and with the robustness would require a lot of work on their part) But good news. Yes it has VPN client support natively

maybe a pity that it is not tri-band? Some of Asus other wifi 6 (not 6e) routers have twin 5ghz channels (in addition to the 2.4ghz channel) - useful maybe if you want to use wifi based backhaul in an AiMesh setup?

Just fyi, merlin custom firmware is only supported on Broadcom chipsets, not Qualcomm chipsets.

I have one of these and only live in a small house. The coverage is not as amazing as you think. My Asus Rog 6D only occasionally tells me 1200Mbps most of the time it's 600Mbps. My TiVo box says 1300Mbps but signal is 62% and my AudioPro speakers A38 are 50% signal. Speakers are in the room directly below. Where do they get these speed figures from. Roku gets 205- 211Mbps on 5GHz in room directly below same room as speakers and TiVo. All my devices are WiFi 6 aswell 5GHz capable. 4600 - 4800Mbps in what reality is this ? I have 550Mbps ISP internet connection speed. Most rooms below the room this is in don't drop below 500 or 600Mbps, but the kitchen next door suffers. Devices drop to 432Mbps and 570Mbps. Why am I not getting much higher Mbps. If claims are 4500 - 4800Mbps. I don't see it. ????

400MB/s using Wi-Fi? No way. There's no way you got 3.2 gigabit over Wi-Fi with this router. Was your client 4x4? How did you test?

@@TallyHoTech Right. The issue being is that if you have faster than gigabit Internet, then it's impossible to get both, a 10G LAN AND a 10G WAN. Of course we need a switch, that's not an issue, but there is faster-than-Gigabit Internet and I want it. I am going to build my own with a MacchiatoBIN.

You do realize that by switching off many old-school 50kW+ FM radio and TV VHF/UHF transmitters, like they have the world over, total HF radiation has gone down by about 80% *everywhere* you sit or walk?
