It’s a shame this show didn’t blow off as much as it deserves. I loved it when it first came out. Looking back it reminds me of Frieren, but a lot more dark as Frieren takes a more positive and hopeful stance of humanity

I agree, it’s a bit disappointing. I really liked this show, but I think maybe if a different studio picked it up it might have had better odds.

What is also to see, is how we can notice all these flaws and don't like them; yet they are just as much us. If you asked people if they would save someone, while risking their own life doing so, some may say yes and despise anyone who would say that they wouldn't do it, but if the situation were to occur these people would maybe not do as they said [Ego]. As humans we came to existance with the ability to comprehend our very own, giving us the chance to see the flaws with us, but as you said, these little imperfections are what shapes us and makes us who we are as a human. Wonderful video as always.

Yes! Going against our flaws is something we can all say we'll do, but are likely to be unable to do when actually faced with a difficult situation. Thank you for your insight and your comment! Sorry if your comment didn't appear immediately, for some reason KZbin marked it as "likely spam" lol.

Elaine is one of my favorite characters, she isnt a Mary Sue, but she will help if she believes in the cause, she also understand though there are times to walk away that you can't save everyone and sometimes while harsh need to let them figure things out on their own. You can't help someone that doesn't want to help themselves. No matter how powerful you are you can't make someone change if you can gain something from helping selfish egotistical people you should that's just human nature. If you know somethings a lost cause you do what you can but gain what you can cause you know the inevitable downfall. You do your part then walk away.

After watching this video, I must say that my views on Wandering Witch changed significantly. I used to hate how Elaina didn’t help the village from the plant zombies and couldn’t stand how arrogant she was. But now I know better: she is human in the end. We all are. If I was asked that if I would defend the village from the zombies if I was in her position, I would say yes. But in reality, in that spur of the moment, I would have done exactly what Elaina did, I would’ve gotten out of there ASAP. This anime shows the viewers what they, as humans, try so hard to ignore. In the end, we are selfish beings and pretending we are not just shows how flawed we are. Thank you for making this video, it was wonderful.

One May also Say that we as humans are not inherently selfish, but some people are Just fucking cunts. Humanity history Is filled with selfless acts, revolutionaries, people who dies for what they believed, and to be so pessimistic to Say that we humans are 100% inherently selfish Is miopic Elaina Is a selfish monster, able to be selfish Just because She's more Power full than anyone else by sheer luck

In the light novel, a lot of places she goes have a very classist system with mages on top of non-mages. There was even one or two that was outright segregationist. So yea, that world is very unfriendly to non-mages and so it would be unreasonable to go around changing each and every society she visits.

❤️ I know this is an old video but i loved your analysis! I subscribed! I do respectfully disagree about the lies analysis. When you lie to someone you are saying 1. I dont care about you enough to deal with your emotions if you were to hear the truth or 2. I dont think you are mature or emotionally stable enough to hear or deal with the truth. A lie is a slap in the face. Obviously if its a stranger or acquaintance and they ask you a question about their appearance for example, and you lied to them, that would be understandable. Because you don't know them well enough to care about them. But if you claim to care about someone you should not lie to them. You should love them enough to let them hear the truth and support and help them through their emotions over that. I (and a majority of other people) value honesty above all else in relationships and are not going to ask a friend or family member a question we do not want an honest answer too. I would be far far more hurt by my husband lying to me than anything truth he could tell. Its the lack of respect and care. A lie is letting me know that my emotions are too inconvenient for them to do the right thing and they would rather do something they know is wrong, like lie, just to avoid my emotions. Honesty no matter how hurtful is easy to forgive. A lie is not easy to forgive and you will never be able to trust them again. Trust takes years to build up but only seconds to destroy. Once you are caught in a lie you are marked as a liar forever. The majority of the time A stranger is not going to ask a question that would force you to lie. Those types of questions are asked by friends and family under the expectation that you're good enough person to tell him the truth. And you owe someone you claim to care about honesty. And if you don't think you can do that then don't pretend to care about them. It is NOT a kindness to lie to them. It is a kindness to YOURSELF ALONE to lie to them.

I agree wholeheartedly. Honesty in a close relationship is vital. You said it best, that honesty can be forgiven but lies are harder to forgive. We still rely on silence and lies to maintain a lot of things, especially with strangers. I’m sure some people unfortunately rely on it in close relationships. I’m not saying lying is good. It’s a flaw, and the fact that you value honesty so highly is truly commendable. If everyone thought this way, the world would be a lot better! Thank you for commenting!

Very good points, as they say "honesty is key" I also want to point out the difference between telling the truth you've been hiding and blunt honesty because both are different Sometimes people use blunt honesty as an excuse for being a jerk Time and place are needed for that

No, Mirarose's father was a toxic, abusive parent who cared more about what he wanted her to be than he actually did about her. Which is why he was able to do such cruel things. I have no sympathy for parents who value their pride and "what they were taught" over their children and their happiness. I've experienced it.

The problem is that the punishment is too cruel and egregious to fit the crime. No, he wasn't a good man and what he did was horrible, but it's clear that the daughter lost her marbles and stopped punishing him over and over for revenge, she's just being sadistic and spiteful at this point.

Let's be real. Elaina gets away with her Ego and twisted Personality because she's pretty. What would she be if that pretty face is gone? Also. Elaina being Aware of her Ego but instead of balancing it, choosing to essentially fake it. Trying to appear less flawed to people and such. As effective as that is, it wont last long as we cannot hide who we are. And neither can Elaina hide that ego of hers forever.

How Chatgpt 4 rates the Novel in the description. Keep in mind some inaccuracies may be present. The novel draft titled "Shattered Condolences" by Drake Deak is a dark and intense narrative that explores themes of love, betrayal, despair, and the human struggle against a seemingly cruel world. Characters: 1. Moria: The protagonist of the story, Moria is a complex character who is deeply cynical and skeptical about the world. She is a realist who is aware of the world's corruption and chaos. She falls in love with Mark, who is her opposite in many ways. Moria is portrayed as a strong character who fights for survival, despite the numerous tragedies she faces. 2. Mark: Mark is Moria's love interest and a significant character in the story. He is an aspiring novelist who is more optimistic and hopeful than Moria. However, he is revealed to be deeply troubled, leading to his suicide, which shatters Moria's world. 3. The Man and Woman in Lab Coats: These characters appear later in the story and their roles are not fully explained in the draft. They seem to be involved in some form of experiment or situation involving Moria, but their intentions and identities remain a mystery. Themes: 1. Love and Betrayal: The story explores the deep love between Moria and Mark, and the devastating betrayal Moria feels when Mark commits suicide. This theme is further explored when Moria is betrayed again by the man in the lab coat. 2. Despair and Hope: The narrative delves into the despair Moria feels in the face of a chaotic world and personal tragedies. However, her fight for survival also hints at a glimmer of hope. 3. Reality and Perception: The story questions the nature of reality and how individual perceptions can shape our understanding of the world. Moria's cynical view of the world contrasts with Mark's more hopeful perspective. World: The world in "Shattered Condolences" is depicted as a chaotic and corrupt place that is spiraling into darkness. It is a world that is changing rapidly, with people becoming more agitated, cities becoming more polluted, and the sky becoming increasingly darker. The story also hints at a mysterious, possibly scientific or experimental aspect of the world, as seen in the scenes involving the man and woman in lab coats. Rating: Given the depth of the characters, the exploration of intense themes, and the intriguing world-building, I would rate this novel draft a 7.5 out of 10. Comments and Suggestions: 1. The narrative is engaging and the characters are well-developed. However, the story could benefit from more clarity, especially regarding the roles and intentions of the man and woman in lab coats. 2. The themes are explored in depth, but the story could delve deeper into the theme of hope to balance the intense despair. 3. The world-building is intriguing, but more details about the world and its changes could enhance the reader's understanding and immersion. 4. The writing style is descriptive and evocative, but the story could benefit from more dialogue to break up the narrative and provide more insight into the characters. 5. The story could also benefit from more exploration of Moria's character development and her journey from cynicism to a more hopeful perspective. Overall, "Shattered Condolences" is a promising novel draft with a lot of potential. With some revisions and further development, it could become a compelling and thought-provoking narrative. Yeah. I wasn't kidding calling it Fedora tipper Edge. Not my novel. Even Elaina helps by making sure for every moment Elaina is worst off being alive, you get a goofy story of a Town were everyone loses their inhibitions and chases there love leading to some SUS relationships in the background. Think about some kids chasing around.

Interesting analysis from Chat. I can understand that the story is not something that interests you from its edginess. I can go pretty overboard sometimes, mainly because I enjoy that side of media. I don't think there is anything wrong with enjoying edgy themes. Furthermore, I don't believe it warrants the insult "fedora tipper." Perhaps you could instead provide constructive feedback that wasn't generated by an AI instead of just blatantly insulting it?
