I think something Alex (Alex?) said that I think is important for young "indie" rappers today: Wrist blew up (essentially) b/c of two bars and a minimal-ass beat. If you're trying to 'make it' or at least have your shit be heard, you should be able to tell people what your 'brand' is w/in 2 bars. Right away. Sum it up. Cook it down into a reduction. Economy of words. This doesn't apply to all styles of rap, music, and writing, but I think it's a good rule for a lot of people in the Internet Age. There's something, first off, awesome about boiling down the essence of a song or what you are into something small, maybe just one line. And second, whether you care or not, that's what works best on the Internet. You could watch 10 seconds of Bones video and understand why he has a fanbase. You can see a still of a Yung Lean music video and understand why he stands out. You can hear two bars off a Madeintyo rap and understand why he's blowing up. Once again, this is not to shit on stuff that requires more patience. Hell, No Jumper is long-form and WE NEED THAT. That's why it's great. But just for a certain type of art, if your inspiration are these guys I listed above, I'd bet keeping those rules in mind will serve you well.

21 Savage's Gun A "Chaser" is any drink that you drink after drinking a previous drink (usually alcoholic). For example many people drink Tequila and then use Beer as a "chaser" ...so you are "chasing" the Tequila with Beer. The thing is, people usually chase the Liquor with Beer and not the other way around. In the video this guy is drinking beer and then drinking the liquor. That's why it's sort of odd.
