For instance, for a long time I wondered why the Bible said to be baptized in the singular name of Jesus Christ as in Acts 2:38 and "in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Ghost" in Matthew 28:18&19. Bible translators have a unique habit of defining by implication that titles like father & son are actually not names in the strict sense of the English language. Those same translators I'm sure would have said that their own names were not "father" or "son". A person's name is a proper noun such as Robert or James. So let's examine the name "Jesus". It has quite a history. It came to the English through the Greek form of the name which is "Iesous"
