I remember when me and kellie (my best friend) watched this and cried together, me and her LOVED this song, she also had cancer (terminal). And I remember it was 4 am and my mom woke me up. There was something wrong with kellie. So i visited her at the hospital and when i got there she was fine, then i had to go back to the waiting room (i dont know why). And i put my music on shuffle and the fault in out stars by troye came on, it finished and i took off my earphones and i saw kellies mom screaming, i ran and she told me kellie died, I saw kellie laying down on the gurnee, dead. This song will forever mean a lot to me. Everytime i hear this i cry.

I sang this at my Mom's funeral 2 year ago now. It feels like it was yesterday. My mom struggled with addiction issues for years before finally succumbing to a heart disease at the age of 40. Way too soon. I got to meet my mom at the age of 18, and I only had 5 years. I sang this song and it let out all the feelings and allowed me to stay strong and be there for my family who needed me during this time. I cried at this. Cancer had always been a sensitive topic for me as my grandad was diagnosed and sadly didn't make it through the battle take took his life. I know people have have lost their parents through cancer and me losing my grandad can no way compensate for that. He was diagnosed 2 years after he had it. Those 2 years I was the only one who noticed a change. I remember one night I went to the hospital I crept in to speak to him. He knew that he wasn't going to make it. He told me that. We were so close. He told ' Emily don't you cry I'll always be watching you, just take care or nan for me.' Everything went downhill from there. I'm not going to ramble on but I thought I'd share for you something I wrote. He left me I know, but he's still in my heart. He never saw the snow because he had to depart. He told me not to cry because he's up there in the sky. A mother got back her son as I lost him. My world to be changed from there on in. I hope I did you proud when you watch me from your cloud. No one can justify the importance of being loved. So if you aren't feeling loved. You are people are just finding it hard to show it. You never know how much you love someone until they're gone. So cherish them til that moment

Well this made me sad. Anything that involves cancer upsets me because I lost my mom to cancer and I know how much my mom suffered and so I can't imagine how awful it is for children who suffer it. Children should be out playing and growing up, not dying in a hospital ward. I pray that I get to grow up and see the day where there is no more cancer, in both children and adults.

It's like the universe wanted me to hear this song.. ^^ Today I had a moment of grief that I didn't want to feel and pushed away for two weeks (or more..). It's because of my cousin who lost her battle against cancer two years ago. It's funny how everything plays together. In school, we are talking about death and how we can help children and teens through that time of loss (apprenticeship as nurses/childcareworkers). We were given the task to choose from several picture books for children or a book for teens, and I chose teens. One of the books of choice was The False In Our Stars, I read it, I watched the movie. So beautiful. And now this song. Yeah. I hoped this comment isn't confusing. It's almost 1 o'clock in the night here in Germany. There may or may not be found some grammar or typing mistakes.. :D I just wanted to share my story and say thank you! Sending much love to anyone fighting this battle and their families and friends. Keep going, be strong ♥

The young asian girl, Kimmy passed away late last year... her one request was to meet one direction and which was met on the 28th of september 2013. This would not have been able to happen without donations from people to the hospital, especially the oncology ward. My mum is a nurse in 3B, thats the cancer ward where Kimmy and Montana are/were and she said that they're just amazing. They never gave up, never lost hope, "they're some of the strongest people i know." Unfortunately I never got the chance to meet Kimmy but i wish i had. Please donate

I can't believe this has been three years ago. What strikes me is that Troye would never write the song if John Green didn't write The Fault in Our Stars and therefore he wouldn't get noticed by the record company. I suppose this is a great 'proof' that literally everything happens for a reason. Sometimes we go through that one experience, or situation or we meet a person, or we get inspired by someone else's work and it unravels a new path for us. Some call it destiny. Some call it luck. Some call it coincidence. Get inspired, create and know that even the crappiest of experiences can lead you to a place that you didn't now you wanted or needed. Stay positive. Stay alive.
