Reminds me of my gal's Mustang. She has an '07 (?) Mustang. Has had it for several years. But it has low mileage because she rarely drives it. (Has another vehicle that is her daily driver.) Anyway... June '23, she drove the Mustang because she was wanting to get it washed. She washed it herself (instead of going through the automatic). DID NOT wash under the hood. So no electronics should have been wet. When she was done, and leaving the wash bay... the computer system revved the engine and wouldn't let the engine idle back down! It was if (in the pre-computer days) the accelerator linkage had stuck. Fortunately she was able to use her brakes to stop the car, and didn't hit anyone or anything. As soon as she was stopped, she turned the key off. After a few minutes of calming down, she restarted the car. It then acted/drove normally. So she drove to my house. When she started to leave my house a couple hours later, the car did the exact same thing. And again, she turned it off... and restarted it. Drove it straight to the Ford dealership and left it there for them to run tests and work on it. Ford had it for a week. Claimed they never found any problems. When she picked it back up, she drove straight home and parked it. The car hasn't acted like that again. However...In the past 8 months, she has had to replace the battery twice, and 3 different mechanics cannot figure out why. But it's definitely something to do with the computer system.
