Shaq won with the biggest franchise in the league, with the best coach in the league (Phil Jackson), the best role players, arguably the best front office (Jerry West) and the best guard in the league.(Kobe) Shaq won three titles with a guy that most people consider the best player of the 2000s. (Kobe Bryant) He also feasted on weak competition. The Spurs were the only great team he faced in the three peat era. This era has way more talent and parity than the 00s. In that era you had Tmac, Vince, Kg all on bad teams and not in position to truly compete for a title. In today's game the league is way more competitive and you have 12 teams talented enough to potentially win the championship.

People really forgot or just choosing to ignore the biggest factor on Jokic winning his 2nd MVP. He had 2k points, 1k rebs and 500 assists that season. The first and only to ever to that! Russ won his for averaging a triple double, first since Big O. Both also lead the league in advanced stats. It made sense why the voters gave them a pass despite being 6th seed. My point is Luka doesn't have anything like those this season. He may have great stats, but nothing really historic or record breaking. If they were too 3 seed, he'd definitely deserve to get it but not as a 5th seed.

One more thing regarding people putting SGA ahead of Luka... just two facts: 1. Luka is leading the league with 34 PPG and closest are Giannis and SGA with 30.1 PPG 2. Luka is by far the most doubled/blitzed player in the league (almost 200 more doubles/blitzes than the next 4 on that list) Does anyone really understand how good he has to be, to still have the best PPG in the league by far? Anyone still remember that ATL game when they decided they will not double him till very late in the game? Let me just put one more stat here, then do what you want with it: Points created per game this season (AST point + PPG): Luka: 58.9 per game Jokic: 48.9 per game Shae: 47.1 per game So Luka, who everybody seems to dismiss, creates 10+ more points per game than the 2 you are discussing for the MVP and some don't seem to even have him first team ALL NBA. These last 2-3 years seems bunch of you media guys have alterior motives. There were always some haters, but this is an epidemic. Ignore the fact Jokic is the best player in the league, and quite frankly its not even close at this point (wasn't last season either). All you have to do is look at win rates with/out Jokic compared to any other candidate. Last season Nuggets won 25% more on average with Jokic than without him. Sixers only won 15% more with Embiid than without him, and about the same for Giannis and the Bucks. Guess what, its the same story this season, but Jokic put up an even more dominant statline than before... He is BY DEFINITION the "most valuable player". No robbery this year lol, he is undeniable.
