Fender Player II best value out there imo. Be prepared to do fret work as every Mexican Fender I've ever owned has fret sprout and rough fret ends. I own US and Mexico made Fenders / have owned China and Indonesian Squiers. Chinese Squiers are better made and more consistent than Indonesian ones. If you've ever seen a Squier stripped of its finish its fairly shocking (check out 60 cycle hum). There is a veneer with many pieces of wood sandwiched in-between. My US made Strat is made of better materials throughout. The overall feel of the instrument is inspiring. There are valid reasons each guitar cost what it does.
