I don't think so, although it might sound like it because the writing is a bit unsettling and she often repeats herself. My interpretation is the narrator is a woman telling the same story in 5 ways - each story has a different narrative structure and adds more meaning. The first story is a straightforward retelling, the second focuses on her motivations, the third describes the brutal outcome of the killing, and the fourth tells us how killing the cockroaches makes her feel. The fifth story is cut off and cycles back to the beginning - it's like the whole story is cyclical and never-ending. I hope this is helpful and let me know what you think!
