Here's the whole fig wasp life cycle. Pregnant female fig wasps dig into unripe figs, they lose their wings in the process. They then lay eggs in there and subsequently pollinate the fig while doing so. They die inside the fig. The male larvae hatch first and impregnate their female siblings whilst still unhatched. After this, they get out of the fig by digging through it, doing this attracts ants. The ants have a feast and start picking off the males. The males did this as a diversion, allowing the pollen covered winged females to get away or at least not be slaughtered indefinitely. Pollen covered pregnant female fig wasps then go on to repeat the cycle. The end.

Fig wasps could be incestuous but in certain situations, two females could lay eggs in the same fig. The result would be their own offsprings intertwining with the other through mating. Incest does have some drawback, as a single strain of a disease could completely wipe out a whole colony of the wasps since there's little to no genetic variation to protect them. Your storebought figs btw is grown and pollinated differently so you'd rarely come across having wasps in your fruit. If it does happen that the fig wasps die inside, it would be most likely absorbed by the fruit.
