I met Kancho Joko Ninomiya about 8 or 9 years ago, he was my coach/sensei's Sensei's Sensei...so 3 degrees of separation. He was very kind and humble, no one would think this quiet old man branched out from Kyokushin karate and added Judo to make something new; also I think his Enshin karate was one of the best karate styles I had ever come across.

very nice but i miss Shihan dai Jesper Sørensen and Senpai Torben Juul, each won the Sabaki challenge spirit 4 times. S .Torben won it 3 differnent weight catatagories he won against Nicolai Zelenia who had a 38kg. wheigt advantage but S.Torben had a superior technique.

Joko Ninomiya was Shihan of Ashihara before Kancho Ashihara died. He opened his own school/style in Denver CO/USA as originally Ashihara and now is Enshin Karate, his style. Hope that helps.

I study enshin karate. Joko Ninomiya is one of Kancho Ashihara’s students in Kyokushin and became one of his chief instructors when he created Ashihara Karate. Joko Ninomiya then had implemented techniques of his own on top of the Ashihara sabaki method which include more Judo grabs and takedown throws, Joko Ninomiya withdrew from Ashihara karate and his Ashihara karate Denver branch became the Honbu for Enshin Karate
