Thank you for putting these videos together Brian. The time and effort to define the narrative of each event really shows. You are singlehandedly keeping many of us 'locked in' on the CPT this year.

This tournament made me realize it would be sick if someone hosted an online invitational tournament for the new generational talents: Noah, Paladin, Blaz, Craime, EndingWalker, Hikaru just to name a few. An 8 to 16 player tournament with all the new up and comers to crown the King of the Zoomers. And more importantly to help highlight and put a spotlight on these newer players and give them more chances to make a name for and establish themselves in the scene.
@1000Tomatoes17 сағат бұрын
Might be neat, but King of the Zoomers wouldn't fit as a title though. Because Tachikawa who just turned 27 is also a zoomer. The only top 8 who weren't zoomers were Dual Kevin and Crossover.
@mickeybat581617 сағат бұрын
Imho that's a little too young. Not saying they'd be bad players, saying that so much can go so wrong so quickly. I might be projecting the issues I have with the smash scene onto sf6 I'm willing to admit that
@VerbalLearning16 сағат бұрын
@@mickeybat5816 I'm totally aware of the potential issues surrounding a tournament like this, that's why i suggested making it an online tournament to avoid potential weirdness with having young players in one location. I was debating with myself adding a section in my comment about this but decided against it as i couldn't figure out the proper way to word it without it being way too long and perhaps also being a bit too pre-emptively negative. But various safety measures and precautions are totally necessary if/when hosting an event like this, even if it's online as well.

Yet another banger recap, Brian. Thanks for all the work that goes into these. For people like me who aren't plugged in to the tournament scene, these are an excellent resource. I love the way you build narrative out of the player journeys. It adds a ton of flavor and context to the outcome.

I always wondered how you guys get to this backwards logic. The consistency is in his results. He finished 2nd you bot. And top 8 all the events he attended. I don't even know why I waste my time explaining this anyways 🤦🏾♂️

I really love this format. I'm super out of it this year, I've barely played the game since March. These long format videos where you put in work to convey the narrative that develops during tournaments, and highlighting players and histories, helps me feel connected. Thanks for your effort, I need to reiterate it, I really appreciate you taking the step beyond just entertainment to informative storytelling, please keep up the great work.

So this is how people feel when someone a decade younger than them starts to show up and clap the scene. Interesting. Also, this CPT season has felt super weird. It feels like we barely had any offline major events and then East Coast Throwdown hit and it's been a weekly thing.
@numa2k1473 сағат бұрын
I lnow Capcom doesn't advertise their events properly but I'm starting to get the feeling you guys aren't aware of the good part of the community. Follow TOs and people who work on events and you'll realize there are quite a lot of them.

I may not be a fan of his style but I am glad that he adds a lot of chaos that has some thought behind it. Noah will be studied for CC so he better find answers and counter play as well, all in all. It will be fun (It would have been more fun after the latest SFL episode ngl)

I never judged the dude as he's better than I am but I still think Noah would win more if he played traditionally. For as often as he can defend himself in burnout, sometimes he can't. And I wonder if that outweighs how often he just runs people over. Specifically at a high lvl. I suppose as we watch we'll continue to learn!

This was a dope event, I hope capcom considers adding more events to highlight Central/South America more. Nain Jr, Closdra, Craime, Isiais, and Blaz really showed out, I hope they can all get the chance to continue to travel and compete in events. Eldryck and the older guy who played Dee Jay were lit too, the older dominicans might be giving the older japanese a run for their money, LOL

The best part of this event for me was seeing Mena lose twice to the character he dropped because he's no longer S tier 😂
@matthewmcgreal46462 сағат бұрын
At 25:52, my guess is that Crossover was buffering level 1 then tapped the parry macro and because there is a kick input in that he got the super. I use this a lot when playing as Rashid because if you go for Ysaar and mess up the input you get an extremely unsafe eagle kick. But if you input level 2 with the parry macro either the super comes out as intended or you just get a parry. Here we see the opposite happen of course. S/O to JB for that tip.

It's channels line yours that will sustain the FGC and I'm sad to see that you don't have WWWAAAYYYYY more views. This FGC recap/news through casual narrative story-telling is going to be a winning method over time. The only thing I could say that would help, even as a follower of the FGC, give the "season breakdown" in a video. Have a video that explains how the Capcom cup/tour works, like how the Chunin Exams were explained at the beginning of the arc. That'd help me. But I love what you've been doing!

About "lock in" becoming Noah's catchphrase: Lock in is an AAVE (African American Vernacular English) expression meaning to focus and concentrate. Noah being black, he probably heard that expression since he was young(er) so that's why he's been saying it for a while.

Is it just me: They are all playing the same character...and there is only 1 way to play them correctly. So you always see the same thing...Its really boring to watch.
@RaijinRift17 сағат бұрын
i think the only character that is boring to watch as his gameplay doesnt change across the levels is bison, the other characters have alot of variations on how to play them
@hotwasabi6912 сағат бұрын

@RaijinRift I alway see the same thing tho.
@RaijinRift9 сағат бұрын
@celuiquipeut6527 to like further describe what I mean, I get what you are saying, but the other characters have ppl that play them a lil differently, obv the most odd one that is doing well is Noah with Luke, his play style is just wacko, but I do mean fundamentally with the character aswell, as for instance rashid, Ed, akuma, aki, they have so much combo expression so it looks sick, but bison is legit the same 2 combos and potentially maybe a 3rd rarely, but it's all bomb, scissor or devils reverse in neutral and then I'd you whiff you die
@RaijinRift9 сағат бұрын
@celuiquipeut6527 also it would be a little bit better if bison's high damaging combo was a little different and not the same bnb combo that also does 8k dmg, his gameplan and neutral is prob the most boring to watch for me atleast out of the top 10
