The Filament Song: il network dinamico delle cellule

The cytoskeleton is a complex, dynamic network of protein filaments present in the cytoplasm of all eukaryotic cells. It extends from the cell nucleus to the cell membrane and is composed of three main components, microfilaments, intermediate filaments and microtubules that are all capable of rapid growth or disassembly dependent on the cell's requirements. The cytoskeleton performs a multitude of functions, starting from cell shape regulation and cell movement. I filamenti del citoscheletro costituiscono una grande rete di tubuli che si estendono nel citoplasma, dal nucleo alla membrana plasmatica. Il citoscheletro non si limita ad essere un'intelaiatura statica, ma è molto dinamico, permettendo alle cellule di cambiare la loro forma e di muoversi, e svolge tantissime fondamentali funzioni.
