The 2019 world cup team lacked this type of leadership, composure and discipline. The ability to win a game they shouldve lost.

ABs of 2019 had no Wayne Smith, an under-baked combination in midfield (Mounga/Barrett) and lack of power in the pack to compete with some of the big steroidal beasts that were put in front of them. England had Eddie Jones, John MItchell, nearly unlimited funds, the ear of the World Rugby board and four full years to turn their 2015 flops into a rugby machine designed to do one thing: beat the ABs. The following week they were completely bulldozed by an SA side that lost to NZ in the pools, only squeaked past Wales and had lost to Argentina, Ireland and Italy only a year or so previously. England cheated like crazy at the breakdown, gerrymandered the offside line and basically rush-tackled the ABs out of the semi-final - following a pattern set by the Lions, SA and Ireland - but even with all that at 19-7 with one try a piece, it wasn't the drubbing that many in the media like to paint it as. Hansen got complacent, didn't train the team properly, constantly tried to reinvent the wheel and neglected a lot of the fundamentals of the game, with results that became increasingly apparent as time went on. With the caretaker coaching team under Fozzie, expect a lean run of results for the next couple of years, no matter who they put on the field. That'd be my prediction.

Amazing. There are some big names that I haven't heard in a long time. Let's see a new segment called where are they now and check in on former All Blacks. Even living All Blacks from the 40s 50s etc. It would be good to see how they have moved on after representing the greatest team.

@@AllBlacks thanks for that... I'll check it out. Great minds do think a like. Let's keep a similar series like isolation nation going. It was great to see these great players at home being themselves. It is such a great series. The person who thought of that deserves a beer. 2020 has been a shit of a year, it's time to strap on the adidas and tear up the fields again. Thanks for keeping us entertained with all of the old games. Let see some earlier games.

Absolutely bro! In the same vain as the legends like Jerome Kaino, Jerry Collins and Andrew Blowers, Tuipulotu was a standout defender.. Brick wall defence and drove them backward when they attacked, just brilliant to watch a man.. A mighty big man! Put his "body on the line" in such a savage way, with total disregard for self preservation... Fantastical effort from the big guy! But this team had that special desire and all were united in their game plan, to win at all cost and /or to die trying! Fekitoa was another who stood out for me as you could see and feel the intensity in his eyes as the calls were relayed down the backline. Awesome game this one.. If you're an All Black fan that is.. Sorry Aussies..

It always amazes me how many of the AB opponents do not manage the end of games very well, giving them repeated opportunities to snatch the win. Nick White kicks the ball away with 90 seconds left. They’re so petrified of being in their own 22 with the ball Du Preez did the same thing in 2015 vs the Japanese, giving the ball back when they should be able to hold possession for 2-3 minutes working thru the forwards. Same with Ireland in 2013.

I always chuckle when I see Bernard Foley whinging to referee Craig Joubert that Aaron Smith didn't tap it properly (when he clearly did). Makes it even funnier now in 2023 after what happened in Melbourne in 2022 where Foley conceded a free kick for time wasting, giving the All Blacks a chance to win that game at the death like they did here.

Loved this game. Still don't understand that with the game won and about 30metres out from your own line, with about 90sec left and Nick White wants to box kick it?????? Stupid decision and stupid rugby. Glad the ABs won but 90sec left with a lead against the ABs, you pick and roll and run down the clock! Not box kick it back to us. Everyone on that field is talented but talents only useful when you make good decisions Go ABs
