It's true. You can easily get it by hitting the blocks in the slot machine to the tune of the song in the beginning. It might not work depending on how much understanding of music you have, but hit it on the ictus otherwise known as the first beat of each measure of music. If you can't tell when that it, then it is when the note is accented or emphasized in this specific piece of music. Sorry for long winded and/or confusing explanation. I don't expect anybody to actually use this method or actually care about what I'm saying, but I don't really mind.

That's the same technique I use, actually. Most of the time I do get the 777 coins, but sometimes I screw up.

Well, in total there are 380 green stars in this game so if you guys are going for 100%...good luck. Also if you want to make it to the last level you need every single green star, stamp, and have the top of the flagpole in every level. It'll show up as gold on the overworld to show you if you have it. Also, take a look at the chart that shows you your stars and stamp and flags. I forgot what it's called, but it's on the screen.
