Finally someone articulated what I’ve been feeling about Kefla for a while. Like, she’d be extremely OP if she were in most other fighting games where you can’t block in the air (Essay ahead, my bad) But not only is this an anime fighter/airdasher/whatever, I also think in the current meta, the “ground game” (at least in the way Kefla plays it) means less than it ever has, for a few different reasons. And I’m not knocking that - it’s a 3v3 airdasher and it’s DBZ, the airborne nature of the gameplay is part of what sets it apart and makes it fun imo. Just, she doesn’t have a way to approach from the air and get a full combo on hit, like most point characters can do with their 236H or whatever - she feels “anchored” a little bit, the same way Hit does, but without all the counters he has to make that aspect of him so strong. And being able to combo off 236M and 236H used to be a big plus for her, but now everyone can combo off beams. Again, I like this meta - just that she doesn’t stand out much in it. She’s very good in a lot of ways, I’m not trying to say she’s low tier or anything, just that I think Cloud placed her correctly.

I'm going to say this. I don't think he is necessarily wrong about where he plays the characters in this game. But it shouldn't discourage you from playing your favorite characters. I hope you guys actually play the game because you enjoy it not because you are overly concerned about where your character is placed lol I think we are all aware that some of these characters still can get a buff somewhere. I think everyone should just focus on mastering the characters you play now. Learn their strengths and weaknesses he is pointing out

This is random but still hope they buff coolers OTG, whiff in the corner and buff his dive kick for more hitstun for combo extention with assist, give piccolo a knockdown that doesn't require meter or just buff his demon slicer from light to heavy and return kid buu his medium stomps, better neutral but not too much, buff his arm ball and mystic ball and bring back his happy birthday. Base Goku is minimum S tier. Can build a full bar with b assist and TOD's off of almost anything with level 3 mini spirit bomb. Also does solid damage and with the spirit bomb buff he can combo it into almost any super.

I think the point he made abt people not liking ugly characters is very valid. Especially given that Nappa wasn't nearly as colorful or flashy as either jiren or kid buu. Also there might be in my opinion the added fact that he's the closest thing to a puppeteer character in the whole game which could disincentive people from actually wanting to play him

A little misconception about SsjGoku: Medium and Ex flurry kicks are both frame 1 air-invul, both on the ground and in the air. Also, I've been hitting the lab and I feel like SsjKu now belongs in the A tier. With limit break and the changes to 236M and 214L, Goku can now confirm any hit AT ALL into a combo to take 50% of your health without spending ANY meter. And that's from anywhere on screen, because with the buffs he's been receiving to 236S, 236M and the flurry kicks he's always had, his most optimal combos work from midscreen or even further. With all that, SsjKu doesn't even need spark to make a comeback in a 3v1, but if you do leave the spark for him... he becomes a ToD machine: every combo builds around 3.5 bars and if you have 1.5 prior, you can always finish into his new level 5 to kill a character out of any medium starter (including his flurry kicks) The only thing that sets SsjKu away form the Stier, in my opinion, is that he lacks two tools that almost every top tier has: - A skip neutral move - 50/50 out of level 3 (He does have it, but needs 5 bars to set it up and doesn't even hit meaty, if I'm not mistaken, so not worth it)

@@soramercury7074 Firstly: 236M does jail into superdash (even from fullscreen), it has been like that for a few patches now. The issue is... 236M whiffs on characters crouching (unless you are point blank range, which is unlikely), so you can't use it in a blockstring like you can use 236L Secondly: Well, yes! But the whole point of the superdash mix is that there is no gap between the superdash and the high/low as the assist is supposed to cover the gap, meaning the opponent can't reflect or reversal to get out of it. To cross up your opponent, you'd have to willingly leave a gap, or else cross-up protection would kick in. But again, if you think the opponent isn't even going to try to reflect or reversal, you can always throw a surprise card with 214S + assist

@@cafequente8252 ah thanks i forgot about the whiffing problem with 236m. Yes, this whole thing is only even worth mentioning, since you get gapless high/low mix without crazy blockstun assists. And because of this, we can use those fast assists instead and get access to even more. I used to run bardock/labcoat/18 a assist to support her, but sadly team full waifu was working out way better and bardock got moved to team b. I think even after the nerfs to labcoat a, i prefer it over bardocks version... not to mention he gets less from 18 barrier than labcoat, lol.

@@soramercury7074 Yeah, I've personally been playing Gogeta 4/Kefla/SsjKu I've found that Gogeta 4 B is a great substitute to Bardock B, since you get about the same assist, but with slightly less hitstun/blockstun in exchange for a much faster start-up

My opinion about Kefla is that she's been an S tier for a while She's always been a complete character with amazing mix, neutral, pressure, meter building. Her only flaw being damage, which... can easily be fixed through the use of assists and further compensated through the use of the meter she builds. That being said, I do agree that MAYBE she is an A tier now, top of A tier at that. The reason being that the requirements for being an S tier have inscreased, the standards are higher.

He’s one of those characters where when you’re new you have to learn counterplay to his gimmicks, then use them and see how UI players get around your counterplay and lab that, rinse and repeat… but then you get to a point where there’s no more gimmicks that really work, and he’s just average in a game where most of the rest of the characters aren’t (As opposed to like Cell ex perfect, there’s no skill level where that’s not good)
