I believe the most interesting frames in this animation are those at the end of 1:07 and at the start of 1:08. Even if we grant that Antarctica is off-limits (which it's not), but even if we did, you still have the tip of South America and the south east tip of Australia. This forms about 135° of night, and conversely, about 225° of daylight. Even with that alone, flat earthers still can't justify why light would behave that way. THEN, on top of THAT, they get royally screwed when these observers actually start POINTING at the direction of the sun, lol! Thank you for these Jos. These animations don't just show the flat earth is broken. It shows it is fractally broken. It is broken at many levels.

I like to point out that that goofy-shaped morphing blob is literally what celestial navigation knows as a 'circle of equal altitude'. But no circle of equal altitude is ever an actual circle on any flat projection.

Unless you move the center of that projection to the equator. Then each longitude 90˚ from zenith is the circle of altitude zero (the astronomical horizon).

On the flat earth you can even get a distorted circle of equal altitude where the GP lies outside this shape. I have an App that proves that. I want to see the flat earther that can handle that.

We should note that, for Witsitt’s “coffee cup caustic,” the shape of the shadow area in the caustic is a cardioid. On actual Earth, the shadow is elliptical.

Your animations are always fun to watch. BTW, I downloaded the footage from the geosynchronous satellite Himawari-8 for Equinoxes and Solstices. In Equimoxes (March / Septemher) you can clearly see the Sun's reflection over the ocean at the Equator - really marvellous to watch.

We are living in a sphere, with a map of the stars in the sky. That is the perspective of the stars from the earth, in orbit around one of the stars. We are also living in the rotating gravity around a rotating planet. The angle from the plane of rotation is the latitude on the map. The plane of rotation is the straight line in the startrails and the straight latitude on the earth and on the map of the earth on a globe.

And to make it worse, it's not even the illuminating. You can actually see Sun itself on those illuminated areas.That's one heck of a magic trick for spherical object to do. Only explanation is that Sun just decides not show itself on those dark areas.😄

Fun fact.. If the earth is flat, On Dec 21st, there is an area between the GP of the sun & where it is visible in the Antarctic that is in the dark otherwise known as the Arctic. That alone disproves Celestial Navigation work on a flat earth.

The argument that this is not literally written in the Biblical text holds no water. There is no actual literal reading possible. One has to use linguistics and illuminate it with non-biblical texts (1 Enoch, Ezra, etc) and with the myths of the civilisations around Israel at the time (Babylon, Egypt, etc). So, yes, it is perfectly possible to read the Bible in that way too, but that does not change the fact that the authors of the Ancient Testament, who were supposed to have the closest connection to God, believed otherwise.

You also need to explain how GPS (regardless of how it is done) shows that lines of longitude get closer together the further south you go below the equator. The premise of the flat earth is the flat surface. Where have you seen a sphere with a flat surface? Does not exist. As for the sun or any optical observation, it is not compatible with the horizontality of the surface. There is no way to change the physics of nature. For sure. The earth is flat and stationary.
