@@xbenci Not very far actually, it's more of an intuition/judgment thing. Without the pawn sac, Black is playing with three pieces (a pawn, rook, king) and White is only playing with one piece (rook), and the pawn sacrifice gives you a much-needed mobile pawn to play with.
@amoldivo
@amoldivo Жыл бұрын
f4 was the only move white could make, but the pressure for playing that (seemingly losing) move was insane 😳 Ding sacrificed so many pawns in this game!! Don't need to play seriously. I spend till 2am messing around and tilting on Lichess with blitz games, and was the second strongest player on my chess team. We managed fourth place this year, which is kinda huge considering Jamaica is just a small island and everybody ahead had FMs on their teams. Play it however makes it fun for you, even Magnus does bullet streams even though he can crush any player on the planet in Classical.

oh boy, these two should go on playing classical forever. and now i'm sure Ding will win the world championship. not winning this game will seriously unsettle Nepo. regardless of its outcome with those stupid rapid games, this is one of the top 10 world championships ever.

it might've actually been in Ding's best interest to go for a draw, since he's so well versed in speed chess
