It’s tough to tear down a lot of hard work, but at the same time it’s great to be able to build something that’s even better. Look forward to seeing what you end up building in the future!

Thanks Jimmy for taking us on the trip while building this layout. Look forward to new adventures with the T-Trak layout as it grows. {Guess I can tear up the $10,000 check I was going to use to buy this layout!}🤑🤣😂

That was always a very good layout to run trains and operate. My friend does T-track modules and bought a trailer and built custom racks inside it just to tote his layout around to shows and what not. He can do a small setup or a much larger one depending where he is going. If I had it all over to do again, I would consider doing modules myself, even in HO. - Jason

So good to see you running UP, NS, Amtrak and Metra (yes Metra!) all on the same layout. I feel totally vindicated in building my layout and running trains that never ran together in time or place. Here's to many more months and years following your new build in your garage.

It looked like a lot of running stock for a smaller layout. Seems like a lot of work to have to remove it all. I guess I watched the video backwards as it has been removed.😢😢😢

I'm using Kato Track Systems to make a 3 1/2 foot by 4 foot layout with 2 Mainline and a Kato Siding for Staging , With a Passenger Mainline and Small industry , looking for some Hard to find N - Scale 1950'S Vehicles like CMW or Woodland Scenics to finish off The Town . . Jimmy, I know just how you feel, years ago when we had to move for my job. My HO scale layout was 25’9” x 27’6” had to be disassembled and stored in boxes, which most all is still in storage to this day, but I’m beginning to build a new modular style layout with 2’x8’ modules that will be able to connect together with a strong focus on switching rather than just a run around. My new layout will reside in my garage during the winter months and move to my shop in the summer months.

Thanks for all the ideas that this layout gave you. I hope to be building my N scale layout using KATO track components in the next few months. Looking forward to your new layout to get more ideas from you. It was great seeing all your trains run by on this layout.

I know it's hard dismantling a layout, but understand the need for more living space for your family. I believe garages-sometimes basements are best for train layouts. There's always the possibility that a spare room will be eventually be needed

I found your channel when you were in the garage then moved in to house now back out to garage and learned stuff from every move just like we will from this one. Was great end seeing all the engines run for last time in the house. Family is important and kids grow fast and need more space. GOD BLESS 🚂💕🚂💕🚂💕🚂💕

I don't know why, but the parade at the end reminded me of the final episode of "M.A.S.H." back in the day, watching all your favorite characters slowly leave the camp for the last time. The final scene is the empty shot where all these "characters" lived for so long. I re-entered this hobby back in March 2024 and you were one of the very first channels I subscribed to, so this layout feels like home to me, but I'm looking forward to the new layout.

Great demonstration and display; perfect speeds. The steam loco's smoke was better than I expected, but still not realistic enough for me. Except for the steam engines I saw as a kid when heavy dark smoke was common, UP's 844 and 4014 are virtually smokeless except for brief periods of 4014 occasionally putting out thick dark clouds while starting up a run. Some diesels smoke that much - but also briefly. I have some small areas of Kato Unitrack on my current 4 x 8 layout, all in areas that are mostly out of sight. My next layout will be entirely Atlas - mixed Code 55 and Code 65 snap track. Widely spaced ties are just not in my real life RR experience, detract from the realism, and the supposed superior reliability of Unitrack does not jibe with my experience.

Hi jimmy. After installing your buildings and putting in lights You don't have to use a switch. Well if you want to lit up it up in day light....yes. But if you want it to come on at a simulated a sunset or at a simulated night. Then I suggest you use diy self day /night switch. Consisting of a photodiode and a transistor combination with can handle the milli Amps. Or a photodiode Arduino transistor combination. Plenty diagrams on youtube. Or maybe even in the IDE examples. Good luck with your endeavors.

Thats so funny that you named your RR the "Twin Valley RR" I almost named mine that before I changed the track plan. It was originally going to be a SoCal layout on a 4x8 sheet, with a mountain dividing the center, on the back half it was going to have a depiction of a grain facility at a farm's edge that was rail served. With a small section of the Cajon pass for the train to pass through the mountain in a deep man made ravine, emerging into an industrial area on the edge of Los Angeles with food storage warehouses. I scrapped the design because I have a lot of passenger stuff and it did not accommodate any of it. Maybe in 10 years or so I will revisit it and build another with that design. So, will you be cannibalizing's this layout for its parts into the new one? Or do you plan on selling it?

Very curious to what is next in the garage. On a critical note: the fleetshow reinforces my objections to sound. Not helped by listening to this video on a mobile phone. So for your own enjoyment if you were me: invest in off-train under layout audio. Or skip it completely (I like rattling wheels on my M track rails)
