Not a mystery, but a little fun fact: When starting the Thieves Guild questline by having to plant a ring on Brand Shei, Brynjolf will distract the crowd with Falmerblood Elixir, claiming that it will give you the ability to "make love like a sabercat and crush your enemies like a giant." Funny thing, after completing this quest, if you visit Helga's bedroom in Helga's bunkhouse, you can find a bottle of this Falmerblood Elixir. Amusingly if picked up by the player, it is the weakest, most pathetic healing potion in the entire game, only healing 1 Health. Looks like our friend scammed Helga pretty big, huh? Edit: It can actually still be found in Helga's bunkhouse even before starting the Thieves Guild starting quest.

The fact that I just sat through all four of these icebergs consecutively without once losing much interest at all is crazy. I have the attention span of a squirrel that snorted pure sugar so it shouldn’t have been possible. But you presented each of these theories so eloquently and with true passion, it was obvious that you have a deep love for this made up word. Skyrim truly is a legend of a game which is why it’s hung steady in the hearts of some many adventurers. I’ve played this game on and off for years and still many of these secrets were unknown to me. Perhaps Jurgen Windcaller has Daedric script on his tomb due to some connections with the Dark Elves? If I recall correctly he chose to embrace pacifism after the Nords’ defeat at the Battle of Red Mountain, maybe he made some effort to reconcile with the Dunmer and they either helped make his sarcophagus as a sign of respect or Jurgen had Daedric carved to let Dunmer read it?

The Jurgen Windcaller might just be coincidence and maybe oversight. As he is in the afterlife with his Nordic brothers and sisters which eludes to him not selling his soul or anything to any deadra. I think what might have happened was that they created the asset before the dragon language was made and it was never corrected. The 17 seems more like coincidence although I do like the concept of Jurgen Windcaller being more nefarious.

For several years now I've thought it would be cool if in ES6. They had it Canonical that the Stormcloaks succeeded. They then formed a new treaty/alliance with Hammerfell. They then started preparing to attack the Summerset Isles/Thalmor with that combined might. While that's going on, the Dragonborn follows in Uriel Septims V footsteps somewhat and when they arrive they encounter his descendants and leads them back to Skyrim to aid against the Thalmor.

There's a small secret in the Volkihar castle ruins that I like. Somewhere behind a locked door, there's fallen rocks that have crush someone. There is the skeleton of that person under the rocks, although he does have humanoid arms, his head is one of an deer. I don't know why it fascinates me that much, but I love to imagine that there were Deerfolks centuries ago, some races that may have disapeared !

I always interpreted the Dwemer temples to be temples dedicated to knowledge, as that’s the only thing most Dwemer could be said to worship. Something like public lecture halls, libraries, and arcane laboratories rolled into one with lots of fancy architecture both decorative and tonal. Xrib could be the name of a notable Dwemer scholar, engineer, or mage that the temple was named after, or even a Dwemer city that lies further beneath the temple. It does kind of sound like a Dwemer name. The altar seems to have been recently repurposed by a modern necromancer for their rituals, but I wonder what it was originally built for? Knowing the Dwemer’s love of knowledge, maybe they sometimes performed rituals not in worship, but in transaction to make deals for secret knowledge from Hermaes Mora?

I posted this comment on Nate’s first “short” a while back, but figured I’d repost it here for anyone who might come across these with interest. I’m not 100% sure that Nate hasn’t covered some of these in videos, but hopefully some of them are new to a few of you! 1st: Meridia’s Beacon spawns in a random chest, which means it’s possible to find the beacon at a shrine of another Deadric Prince, this can even cause an issue where both Daedra talk to the player at the same time. 2nd: Staying on the topic of Deadric Princes. Once they start a sentence, the ethereal voice of any Daedric Prince will continue talking to the player even if you pause the game, almost as though the game itself can’t stop them from addressing you. 3rd: Using the Aetherial Crown in conjunction with the Atronach stone and also having the Lord stone applied will provide a whopping 75% magic resistance when wearing the crown (and a bit of physical damage resistance) without having any enchanted equipment, this essentially makes the crown one of the best defensive items against magic foes, and allows the player to focus on better enchantments for gear like heavy armour without being as vulnerable to magic attacks. Completing the ‘Book of Love’ quest (Riften temple of Mara) will also permanently add an additional 15% magic resistance bringing the total up to 90% magic resistance with one equipped item! 4th: Once you purchase Lakeview Manor in the Falkreath hold (potentially the other Hearthfire homes have a wagon too, but I haven’t checked) you get access to a travel wagon that not only has access to the cities and towns like the wagons near stables, but it also allows easy access to the smaller villages like Dragons Bridge, Rotikstead, and Ivarstead. This makes travelling to those smaller villages for quests or marking them on the map as future fast travel locations extremely easy. 5th: Using the Ritual Stone power and either the wait function or Aetherial Crown trick, it’s possible to fully charge Mephala’s Ebony Blade by killing and resurrecting the same follower 10 times, rather than needing to kill 10 different “friendly” NPC’s. 6th: NPC’s resurrected by the Ritual Stone (max of 3) also don’t count as followers, pets, or conjurations. Therefor it’s possible with a follower, pet, a conjuration summon, and the ritual stone ability to have 6 allies fighting alongside the Dragonborn at once. 7th: Speaking of the Aetherial Crown trick, it’s pretty well known but I’ll still explain. Having a standing stone already attached to the player, equip the crown and then choosing the Serpent, Tower, Ritual or Shadow stone will attach that second stone to the crown, you are then able to reset the 24 hour in-game recharge time of those stone abilities by simply taking off and re-equipping the crown, even during combat. 8th: It’s possible to summon Durnehviir in Blackreach and Labrynthian, making for some very awesome gladiator/arena style dragon fights in those enclosed areas… ARE YOU NOT ENTERTAINED?! 9th: There’s 6 dragons in game that cannot be tamed and flown around. Durnehviir, Alduin, Paarthurnax, Vulthuryol, Sahloknir, and the skeletal dragon in Labrynthian are the ones that cannot be tamed using the Bend Will shout. 10th: When you’re in the abandoned shack after killing Gertrude, it’s possible to attack and kill Astrid instead of the captives. Killing Astrid starts a new quest helping the Penitus Oculatus called Destroy the Dark Brotherhood. - Note - This option is a very short quest that only pays gold, it has no special rewards and it obviously locks you out of the Dark Brotherhood quests after killing Astrid, so it’s not particularly worth it aside for role playing purposes. Some extra quick fun facts: -Mehrunes Razor can 1 shot most bosses with a lucky strike. -See dragons breathing fire, or you absorbing a dragon soul on the world map. -Returning the Horn of Jurgen Windcaller to the dungeon grants a free dragon soul. -Frost enchantments are more powerful on Stahlrim gear and weapons. -Falmer are blind so invisibility doesn’t work, but the silence spell and muffle enchant make you harder to detect. -Followers being detected won’t allow the player to deal sneak attacks. -Dual cast expert illusion spells work on all enemies, making master level illusion spells completely useless. -NPC’s marked by the Fury illusion spell are considered hostile, and can be killed without guards attacking you or getting a bounty. -Unrelenting Force used on large lit braziers in ruins will add a fire effect and fire damage. -Soul gems filled with a soul smaller then it could hold may be emptied by dropping it from inventory. -Followers that can train skills keep the gold in their inventory, and can be traded back to the player after. -Alchemy and smithing xp is based on the value of the potion/item you create. -Ore veins can be melee attacked with a pick axe, instead of interacting and waiting for the animation. -When dual wielding weapons, the attack speed is based on the speed of your off-hand weapon, not the main equipped. -Marked for Death shout effects are permanent, stack, and also affect followers. Be careful not to cripple your favourite follower!

I actually saw through captain Valmir’s disguise, so when I was walking up to the place and was talking to me I was thinking “Why is there an elf in the imperium?” and so I check his pockets and found a note with his orders to disguise himself so I then “took care” of him and headed inside and got the mask.

When I first met Thaddeus Cosma in ESO my immediate thought was that he was an Imperial Mananaut. They were void-explorers serving the Elder Council, though largely during the First Era's Reman Dynasty. My second guess was possibly a Psijic Agent from the distant future. Third guess is a reference to some Kirkbridian apocrypha becoming semi-canon again.

I have practically 0 knowledge about the elder scrolls but I still love these videos. And the lore of the series is kinda confusing with all the strange names and deities but the way you explain these mysteries is soooooo good. When I listen to you talk I kinda understand the lore more. I tried to watch elder scrolls lore and history vids but it got confusing fast.
