love the channel, covering the history of the game is rare nowadays

Thanks. Lots of players don't realize how different the game was a decade ago. We hope to bring more appreciation to the previous players and formats.

4:58 "That's a good draw" He topdecked the only card that saved him lol. I love him. Is that Beyond the Duel at 6:12? Shoutouts to Gachi Gachi released 1 day and winning worlds the next. PS: What's with the random Wassap noises?

I bought the first Starter Decks,YuGi and Kaiba. I built decks out of various cards. I tried many combinations. Powerful cards were released like Raigeki and Mirror Force. Limits on the amount of copies per deck were introduced. The game was a masterful creation. The mechanics worked perfectly. Upper Deck used to own the rights to YuGiOh,then Konami bought the rights. Everything went downhill from there. Konami started releasing a consistent series of new "sets". The old ways of combining any cards from the library to creat the ultimate strategy was dead. Greed kicked in and they introduced Synchros. I thought those would break the game but it actually made the game better by adding a level of complexity. The ge died the moment they introduced Link Monsters. That's when the level ox complexity had killed the game. I realized that Konami was on a path to generate as much revenue as possible. Releasing new "sets" every 4 months, each new set being better (more pluses than the previous). Meaning, you had to spend $600 every 4 months to keep up with the meta. The perfect game that was once YuGiOh was killed by the greed of Konami. I had to say goodbye to a great game. RIP YuGiOh

Why did you like Synchros back then though?
